It is true that noone has stepped up to claim the 135 mantle but she's got to know she was outmatched years ago and the fighters are only getting better with time, even though 135 is the womens HW and seems to similarly evolve at a glacial speed.

Ashlee Evans Smith is big even for women's BW. She's not very good but I will say one thing she seems to excel at, if she can get it, is top control. At 36 and coming off a neck injury its a tough sell but Perez is also pretty terrible. AES also fought fat Dumont in her last fight so Im giving her the benefit of the doubt for not backing out of a fight with an opponent who missed weight by like 4lbs.
Her age and injury makes her almost impossible to trust. This isn't the same thing as Veronica Hardy coming off a long layoff and beating Juliana Miller if anyone's trying to use that as a comparable. If she looks good on the scale I'll consider switching my pick because Perez is just awful.

Holly looked great in her last fight but father time is a *****. Can she still go 25 minutes? She's never been submitted but MBS is a legit ace. She might only need one or two really good opportunities.
If memory serves me correctly, Vieira won a round she argueably shouldn't have because she had a standing guillotine in on Holm at one point that was extremley close to ending the fight.
I think MBS winning would be very cool and honestly great for the sport but I think Holly is destined to get one last title shot.
