Hello everyone, after lurking in this forum for a while I have found that we are missing a prospect watch thread where we can talk about the guys who may become 'the next big thing' that will be fighting soon. I've called it weekly, but feel free to talk about any relevant announcement you find.

I would rather use it for guys outside UFC, Bellator, PFL or similar, but if there is one guy in these promotions you would like to talk about there is no problem

You can say anything you find relevant about the prospect: weight class, amateur record, some info about them. But please, in case you know where to watch it write it here so all of us can watch it too!!

I'm gonna pick the HW fight at ONE coming up.
One of the fighter's name is Duke Didier and they both have decent records that rank them high in their regions.

Plus I love HWs that have submission victories.  :)

Damned if I know where most people watch ONE fights from in North America though... sorry.

I haven't seen the actual talent level of either guy but when you can survive the HW division with a strong win percentage,  that says at least a little bit.

Nice!

Definitely Tokkos should be on many people's radar.  He already has better recent credentials than many rostered UFC'ers.

Hey did you happen to catch the match I picked last week... the HW match in ONE between Didier and Zhasur?
Man, it was an interesting commentary on the current state of MMA on a number of levels.

First, you had that accomplished collegiate wrestler thing happening with takedowns and top control accompanied by little-to-no damage in "Bader-like" fashion.
Then you had the bottom guy trying to find a good old-fashioned 261-pound gogoplata haha.
Then in the last half of the last round, the guy that's been getting taken down and controlled, finds his sprawl game and turns it into about 27 knees to the head of a downed opponent, (completely legal in ONE).

Two of three judges give their decision to the guy who only won 1/6th of the fight, but undoubtedly had the most significant offense.  ONE FC  scores the fights as a whole rather than with a 10-point must system per round, and still we have a split decision where one judge loves lay 'n pray, but the others love a couple minutes of the old ultra-violence.  LOL.

Seeing a HW keep fighting while taking 27+ knees to the head while on all fours sure does make a person question how serious I'm supposed to take the likes of Aljamain Sterling, Hector Lombard and Gadzhi Omargadzhiev, (and don't get me started with Josh Koscheck), when they try to convince us that a single knee, (sometimes grazing), has put them out of commission.  The drama and fakery is real.  It's kind of embarrassing, actually.  haha

Anyway... a lot to process in that single fight.

I did lol, that was weird. I may not remember correctly, but didn´t the judges say Didier would have win this at the UFC?

The announcers, you mean?

It's plausible.  Didier would've got 10-9 and 10-9 for the first two rounds.
Zhasur would've got the 3rd round either 10-9 or maybe 10-8.

So Didier winning or a draw was likely the result under UFC scoring.

He will move up a weight in the future I think. Taller than his brother who just dropped from 205 to 185. Matter of time imo.
