I've said before and I'll say it now. Jones is an amazing fighter and I love watching him fight. His personality is garbage though and everything he says seems fake, scripted or otherwise. I don't think anyone is discrediting his abilities, people just don't like him because hes fake.

I still don't understand the hate for the Jones.. I guess I'm missing something. But, @itfigures... it was his abilities I was talking about that people discredit... but his actions outside the cage. I don't see how he is "fake".

@itfigures nailed it. I feel the exact same way. If I had some way of erasing everything I've heard from or about bones, and never hearing anything else about him besides him in the cage id probably be a fan. Since that can't happen, Im sure he will continue to rub me the wrong way (similar to 40 grit sand paper on my eyeballs) and i will respect and appreciate what is capable of in the ring and other than that dislike him.

Everyone started calling Jones fake after Rashad and Rampage did it.

I don't even know what "fake" really means. What is the "real" Jon Jones? Does he steal from little old ladies?

Jones seems to be one of the nicest people in the entire UFC. A little arrogant and ****y at times (and who wouldn't be... he's like god's gift to MMA in terms of fighting ability), but still a perfectly nice young guy.

And in the cage, he's a fierce competitor. It seems like he's everything you'd want in an MMA fighter.

@Kalibo and @Gregory, I agree. Sometimes he comes across like he's trying too hard be loved, but I think he's a genuinely nice guy, and give him credit for his fighting abilities. I wish more fighters would tweet comments like that after they fought someone, but the truth is you don't see it very often. I like that he can show class after beating someone, that's an admirable trait.

I don't know if I've referred to jones as specifically fake but he is fake humble and that gets under my skin in a hurry. He's rubbed me the wrong since i first watched an interview and has since. That was before the silliness with rashad and rampage. They may have put a label on it better than i have but I've disliked him since i heard him speak.

The more people calling him fake and having negative feelings toward him might be corresponding to rashad and rampages comments simply due to his meteoric rise in 2011. Most people didn't know who he was before 2010 and he hasn't been around much before the comments were made by those two. Could be coincidence.

@rwlawman, while i agree id like it better if i felt the fighters actually meant it. Jones may mean it, i don't know. But the case with the video and how greg jackson said get some fans makes it seem really lame and forced.

If jones means it I'm happy for it. If jones is saying to get more fans its low and disgusting.
