The main thing that does it for me is that Jared's style favors slow fights. And if he's not controlling the fight, I see that he tends to lose a step until he finds a nuclear opening; that will always be there with Derek's non-trustworthy defense but I can count on him to make it dirty, and in those situations, I don't see a sniper in Jared Cannonier who aims to select his individual shots finding much success. If it's dirty, I got Derek here, and more often than not, Derek makes things dirty

Kevin Holland almost put him out in the 2nd round of their fight too if I remember correctly.  If you have been knocked out 5 times already in your career with 4 of them happening in the 1st round, you definately have a questionable chin.  However, he has improved a lot and is a much smarter fighter now by emphasizing his grappling ability.

We are in an era right now where veteran guys are going on a 2nd tear in their careers with Charles Oliveira, Glover Teixeira, Jose Aldo, etc.  Brunson has been the most profitable fighter to bet on as well, he has been an underdog in each of his past 5 fights and won each time.

With that said, I'm doing two bets on this fight.  Brunson by decision or Jared by TKO, I don't see it ending in any other fashion except those two ways.   Those two outcomes can be used as parlay pieces to make them profitable.

He won’t. It’s a brawl; you can’t win a brawl with Derrick lewis

Fighters I am backing on this card:
Jeremiah Wells, Derrick Lewis, Derrick Brunson, Rob Whittaker

Jeremiah Wells - Was backing him bigtime against Jake Matthews, and not scared of the City KB newcomer. Did some digging on Blood Diamond and not super impressed with his kickboxing. A few who are familiar with the NZ/Austr regional scene say he's a mid-level regional kickboxer there...he's nowhere near the top of the heap, and his MMA wins have been against atrocious competition. I also saw a recent photo of him with the City KB crew (Hooker Adesanya, etc..) and he looked unusually small for his weight class...Wells could have a big size advantage, and if he's smart, utilizes his black belt BJJ and grappling and wins this fight that way.
Derrick Lewis - Surprised the line is still -190....imo Lewis should be -300 or so here. He is always disrespected, but so be it, happy to be a victor. He is just superior to Tuivasa striking, and Tuivasa has so many holes, when you nearly get KO'd by Hardy...Lewis is gonna put you to sleep. Even could see Lewis winning a decision if it plays out like Lewis/Ngannou (doubtful).
Derek Brunson - Another one that gets disrespected by the books every time...he has a clear path to victory with his wrestling and also a new black belt BJJ in the last year I believe too. Can he keep Cannonier down is the question. I will gladly back him as a dog to find out. I'm a huge fan of Cannonier, but his game seems a bit basic after seeing his performances against Whittaker and Gastelum. I know he got hurt in the Whittaker fight, but I really wanted to see him vault into a Championship prospect and he kind of fizzled alittle bit imo. He was actually outstruck by Gastelum on pure numbers, and Brunson's wrestling is another league from Hermannson's imo.
Rob Whittaker - This would be a very small backing, simply based on his price. He fought like a lunatic last time, got caught, acknowledged it, and has said all the right things in the lead up. Also acknowledged the wrestling blueprint put forth by Jan. Izzy has looked lackluster lately, simply put, Rob is worth a flier here at +225 odds (that apparently continue to grow).

Tuivasa really hasn't beaten anyone great to give me confidence that he can finish Lewis, because you trade with Lewis you generally get put to sleep. He has been stopped in all his UFC losses but that doesn't make me think Tai would have an easy time with him.

I also thought lewis looked really good against daukaus. Didn’t look slow like he usually does (might just be recency bias because of how bad he looked against ciryl)

Derrick recently said the Ciryl fight was the anniversary he was released from prison and it messed him up mentally. Not just fight day but the whole lead up. He's not one to really make excuses so it makes sense.

what...I never said Derrick beats Ciryl...idk why you're getting so defensive..i simply was stating what he said in the interview. You really think Derrick is the type to make excuses? He simply said it was family stuff and the reporter kept pressing and Derrick mentioned it. Just could help explain why he looked off that night and was hardly throwing or being as aggressive.

It definitely had a role but Reynolds is right; ciryl is a nightmare matchup for Lewis. Usually he can deal with disadvantages but ciryl is too quick and athletic for him to do anything. Would probably be the same result if they fought in the apex or under different circumstances

Did you guys also see  big "technical and accuracy" gap between Izzy and Whittaker at their first fight?
I think that Izzy will win again

I don’t think whittaker wins. The only person who’s held izzy down for a significant amount of time is Jan and he had like 25 pounds on izzy. Izzys tdd and getup game is too good at MW; no one beating him in a striking match

Yeah that's why I picked him..
He is so good at everything.
What do you think about Bobby Green?
He is though, he had an easy win against Iaquinta.
But I have never see Nasrat fighting.
