Alright folks, 

As you might know I'm Tapology Boxing editor. I know the majority of you guys are here for MMA, so was I originally. But for the last year or 2 there is a little more interest in Boxing on the site. 

So here's a place to talk boxing.

If it is true, and I am fairly confident, this has been an awesome day for big boxing announcements.

Maybe the best Welterweight fight since Dela Hoya Trinidad is finally here! Fingers fookin crossed!!! 

Leading member of my All Violence team Artur Beterbiev defends vs Callum Smith have a press conference on June 1st to officially announce an August 19th fight. 

An all Mexican battle between 2 great action fighters and multi weight World Champions Emanuel Navarrete and Oscar Valdez go to war in Phoenix on August 2nd

Oh and Tyson Fury might be fighting this Aussie dude in a real Heavyweight Classic!!! 🙄

Oh I know Coppinger but usually it's different if I see it on ESPN's official account vs seeing it from Coppinger himself

Yikes that Fury fight is a joke. I’d rather see him fight Ngannou and I’m not even a huge proponent of that fight.

This is probably the Charr news all over again, it's gonna be swapped to someone like Ortiz or Wallin and people will pretend it's a "real" fight for Fury.

Fighting in the Co Main event of the Conlan Lopez card this weekend in Belfast, South African boxer Ludumo Lamati fought for 12 rounds vs dangerous Scouse puncher Nick Ball. It was competitive fight to start but Balls bigger shots started to take over from the middle rounds, late rounds. In the 10th I thought the fight should have been stopped. Lamati was battered and staggered back to his corner, I'm not blaming his corner. You could see they really considered pulling him after that round but I understand that it's difficult. This is a fighter who has worked for years, come from poverty and this is his opportunity to make some big money to change his life, the fight was an eliminator for the WBC. Lamati continued and he was finally stopped in the 12th, his corner did actually throw the towel.  About 2 minutes after the fight Lamati collapsed, he was given medical treatment very quickly and transport to A&E ASAP thankfully. But he is still in hospital, all I can tell for sure is that his vitals are stable.  Hopefully he makes it.

I hate that I have to make posts like this fairly regularly, since I started editing here and having to keep up to date with boxing big and small from all around the world I have been surprised and saddened by just how regularly boxers suffer severe injury and ultimately die, multiple times per year. 

Makes me a lot less critical of fighters, I obviously have the odd moan, but ultimately I respect and understand the dangers of the sport of boxing. 

Much more severe injuries than MMA for whatever reason which I'm curious about?  I know that constant head shots in boxing is likely the big difference but still, I have seen some guys get really beaten bad in MMA, yet this doesn't seem to happen much at all, even in the minor leagues of MMA. 

Anyway, hopefully the young fighter pulls through this

I was really excited for the Canelo vs Charlo news until I noticed it was Jermell. Is he just selling his 0? I really don't see how it's reasonable to be out for so long than move up 2 whole divisions. 

Im not familiar with any of the charlos. Is it the one that was supposed to fight tim tszyu or the other one?

Jermell is the champion of Super-Welterweight. His brother Jermall is the Middleweight champion which would've made more sense for Canelo.
