hmm. im def going to have to watch a lot of tape on this one. I think Hill is being overlooked here. Similar situation to crute in that hes coming off of a loss that everyone expected him to steamroll his opponent. Hill steamrolled every other opponent hes fought, and imo that Craig fight was a learning experience for him more than anything. He got wayyy too ****y and it cost him. I do still agree that crute is an animal tho.

Also on another note. I love the matchup and usually dont complain about prospect vs prospect, but in this case its terrible matchmaking. LHW is a division that desperately needs new faces and you matched up two young guys and whoever loses is going to be on a 2 fight losing streak, massively setting them back and probably hurting their confidence. Skill wise, great fight, but for the future of the division its a terrible fight

UFC has a way of ruining prospects by making them face each other early on in their careers. Kind of stupid and a loss of money in the long run.

Also another thought. Chris Curtis and Sean Strickland are very good friends so Strickland will be very valuable when it comes to game planning and coaching while Curtis is in the fight. Very unlikely Curtis repeats what he did to hawes, as allen actually has a chin, but just some food for thought

Yeah normally I’m all here for it, but I really don’t like it in this case as lhw is already a very thin division as it is

Sean strickland also is a stand up fighter , not a grappler nor wrestler. Allens plan better be to wrestle or he'll get knocked out.

Well yeah but no one has done to allen what Strickland did to him so there gotta be domethjng there. Plus Strickland lives rent free in Allen’s head , I feel like hearing him in the corner could potentially get in Allen’s head. Like her seriously does not like Sean

Also allen, for being an outstanding grappler, hardly uses his wrestling in fights. He stood with puna the entire fight. When his fights go to the ground, he’s not normally the one trying to go there

I mean , maybe he's learning like most fighters should be from camps.. He may have crispened his boxing and hopefully defense. If he stays at range , he could cruise to a decision. But that's a risky game considering what we seen last time. But we also got to think that Hawes has a gas tank that barely lasts a round. He has too much muscle for his gas tank. Allen won't be gassing at all. If he mixed it up and shoots for takedowns and **** , making Curtis drop his guard, he could pick him apart. Also , taking this on a 2 weeks notice could be a problem for Chris. We'll see. Good fight regardless of the winner.

Yeah training at Sanford is very beneficial for any up and coming fighter; also phil hawes trains there too lol. Allen’s a great striker and can definitely hang with Curtis; has a much better chin too. While he does make improvements, I doubt he’s going to change much up, hawes couldn’t take down Curtis, going 0/3, and hawes is a pretty damn good wrestler. Allen isn’t really a great wrestler and he’s been having success with his current fighting style so I don’t expect him to change it here. Also Curtis’s entire career has been built on short notice fights lol. He said he took fights at heavyweight on short notice before, so don’t see him gassing

Jamahal can't and won't win by KO. Crute has fought guys who have way better stand up than Hill and has never been finished by KO. He's been submitted and a DR stoppage due to leg kicks. The same guy who beat Hill got choked out by Crute. Crute also KOd Modestas, who was supposed to be the next big thing. Jamahal also can't win by decision because Crute has way more up his sleeve than Hill. Hill has stand up , that's it. I got Crute by Finish or Decision. Also being the younger , more fresh and hungrier fighter , I don't see Hill winning.

Also , the level of competition Crute faced compared to Hill is way better. Out of 12 wins , 9 being finishes. He's finished every fight he's been in , since the UFC (5). The only person Hill KOd was a washed up OSP and a can crusher in the Contender series. Think I'll take Crute here no matter where the fight goes.

Yeah , Guida might get finished . Santos is a lock. 5 inch reach and height advantage and he's all around the better fighter.

Modestas having hype doesn’t equate to skill; he’s now no longer in the ufc. Just because crute beat better competition (not by much) doesn’t mean he’s necessarily a better fighter. Also MMA math doesn’t work. This fight is a battle of strengths; crute wins if it goes to the ground and hill wins if it stays on the feet. Also who has crute fought who’s a better striker? Anthony smith? The guy who almost knocked him out with a jab? Hill has 5 inches of reach and his striking numbers are incredible; 7.5 strikes lander per minute at a 52% accuracy. Crute is a phenomenal wrestler and hill has poor tdd, but crute hasn’t been able to hold anyone down very long at all (the Craig fight is a little different because Craig is more than willing to be on his back) but both smith and olekseijcuk got up with ease (I’ll cut crute some slack for smith because he was on one leg). When hill got taken down multiple times, he was able to get back up pretty easily. Hill is very hittable but guess what? So is crute; they have 45% and 50% striking defense respectively.

Also why do you mean he can’t win by ko? Like I said earlier, crute almost got ko’ed from a jab by smith. Hill is a striker who can put on a furious pace and uses knees, punches and kicks frequently. He’s also got 5 inches of reach on crute and we saw what smith did to him with only two inches of reach

Also you brought up the finishes like that has to do anything with fighter skill. And in that smith fight, he only went to wrestling after getting his leg ****** up. He didn’t even attempt a single takedown until then. I think hill Pieces him up on the feet until he goes for a takedown. Once he takes hill down, if he’s able to keep him there, he wins. If not, he loses either by decision or ko
