Fiziev vs. Riddell
Brad Riddell, DEC
i believe the tapology community got this one right. all signs pointing to riddell for me. maybe he can go to the takedown when needed to secure a win.

Michel Oleksie has way better stand up than Hill. And got submitted in Rd 1 . We'll see. I wouldn't bet on hill at all. But to each their own.

Also , Smith has phenomenal wrestling and grappling, neither of which , Hill has. So of course he'd get back up after being taken down. Once hill gets down , that's it.

in what way is he better? not even for arguments sake, im just curious about that thought process. No one at LHW has the output and variation of strikes that hill has except for jiri. Michal got subbed in r1 because thats how he loses fights; hes lost 3 times by sub.

have you seen the stosic fight? hill got up no problem. Olekseijuck has a 46% tdd and he got up no problem against crute. Its also important to note that Michal has no grappling credentials whatsoever, so yeah.

Comparing Darkos wrestling and grappling to Crutes is pretty disrespectful tbh. Darko isn't a ground guy. He's a stand up , decisionist. But we'll see.

Im not comparing wrestling, I was pointing out that hill had no problem getting up after getting taken down. Michal had no problem getting up after getting taken down, and after what I saw from hill, I think he won't have a problem getting up to his feet. Thats not comparing wrestling skills, im pointing out a flaw that crute has and showing why I dont think he holds hill down either

Jamahal doesn't have much fight IQ. He'll get ahead of himself once again and get smothered. We've seen everything hill has to offer as a fighter and it isn't much.

I like Hill, don't get me wrong. But this was a complete mismatch skill wise and Crute will expose Hill for being one dimensional.

@Ayyl Hill has never faced a wrestler nearly as top-heavy as Crute. Once he gets on top, he tends to stay there. I'm more worried that he'll try and stand and bang TBH.

Thats what im saying. In the smith fight, he was totally content to strike with him, despite being hurt multiple times by that jab. he only went to wrestling after realizing he couldn't use his right leg

and obviously, im not saying crutes grappling isn't bad, its actually phenomenal, but from the tape ive watched, hes only held one person down for a long time and that was Paul Craig, a guy who wants nothing more than to be on the ground. Its also important to note that Craig ****** up his foot in the second round of that fight, which let to him getting dominated on the ground

I will agree that hill is one dimensional, but to call it a complete mismatch is crazy. If it was a mismatch the odds would be like -400 crute. each fighter has their strengths, if crute wants to wrestle, he wins, if not, he loses. Also, I dont think its fight iq, more him being ego centric, I think that Craig loss will be very humbling for him

I'll agree on the ego centric part. But I agree to disagree that if Crute stands hell lose. He can mix it all up. Also has alot more strength so for say he connects , night night hill. And I just think Michel is a all around better kickboxer. Not much to explain. Jamahal is a crisp , long guy. Not much else to say. He has nice kicks too , but they're very delayed and slow. He tries to kick Crute and he'll be taken down.

That is true. My reasoning for crute losing on the feet is the striking numbers. Hill can mix it up and is good in the clinch too. hes got a significantly longer reach than crute, and we saw what a reach disadvantage did to him in his last fight. Also, like ive said before, he got hurt bad by smith's jab, and while he can easily ko hill, I think hill can do the same. It doesn't seem like it, but they both have horrible striking defense and I think hills pressure and volume, mixed in with his long reach and striking variation is too much for crute on the feet. Its not that he cant hang on the feet, but look at hills striking numbers against opponents; obviously hes outstriking bad competition, but with a 50% striking defense compared to hill landing 7.5 strikes per minute at a 52% accuracy = crute takin a lot of damage. He's tough as **** so maybe you are right in hill not being able to ko him.

and again, crute could just dominate him in the wrestling, but I haven't seen him dominate anyone on the ground since the Craig fight. Not that he cant do it to hill, more that he hasn't gone to the wrestling as much recently

edit: he did dominate Michal in the wrestling but like I said, he was able to get up almost every time

Let's also keep in mind that getting up with an opponent on you takes alot of gas out of you. Maybe Hill gasses. Who knows anymore , yk. That's one thing about MMA is anything can happen. But I just like the discussions of breaking down fights and how we can express our opinion without it being an argument. The reason I started a tapology account. You won't get belittled(9/10) for disagreeing. It's an open discussion.

Exactly, that’s why I love this sight. If we had this conversation anywhere else, there would probably be lots of expletives and insults being thrown around lol. I will say tho, you did make me less confident in hill (not necessarily a bad thing hahah)

Thoughts on Dusko and Maki? Had very high hopes for Dusko and I still do. I just think this fight was put in for Dusko to get back in the winning track. Maki has one way of winning and that's by KO. But if Dusko actually learned to defend and just Bob and weave a tiny bit , this could be a walk in the park for him.
