That is true but that fight was a short notice catch weight. Obviously, cutting less weight shouldn’t affect gas tank but maybe jourdain was prepping to get his weight down to 145, and then having to change up his game plan to add 5 extra pounds could have slowed him down. Idk, it’s just speculation but that was the first time I’ve seen him slow down; he sure didn’t slow down when he murdered rojo in the third round lol

@ayylmao Nah, Merab is the mini Ricky, remember Ricky made him twitch around like a dead animal when they fought. Still one of the craziest finishes I've seen, Merab was literally unconscious and never stopped kicking his legs, that dude is a terminator

Yeah lol. I meant mini merab because merab has had more success than Simon has; also because they have very similar fighting styles. That finish really was impressive tho; merab is ******* impossible to finish

Even more impressive when you realize he held a mounted guillotine for a minute straight and even tho he went out he recovered almost instantly; crazy stuff. I don’t think it should be counted as a win just because he recovered so quickly (also Simon was gonna lose a decision without the finish) but it is what it is.

For sure. Just saying that I think his last fight was a one off thing. Plus, if it was anyone but erosa he likely would have won a decision; erosa is known for his d’arce so there’s basically no escape once he sinks it in.

Also I’m very interested as to why 75% of tapology is fading Eubanks. I think she’s so much better than gatto; especially at Flyweight

Eubank is 36 and looked slow in her last couple of fight. Gatto submission skills seems legit. I'm not saying Eubank can't win but i'm thinking something like 55-45 Gatto.

that is true; weight cutting and cardio has always been her problem. She comfortably made weight and look phenomenal in her return to flyweight tho. Granted, it was against a short notice SW who probably shouldn't even be in the ufc, but Eubanks skillset is far better. Look at her losses too; she's outstruck viera, Ladd, and courriera. Plus, she actually was pretty undersized for BW (she fought at FLW for TUF and switched up to BW because she couldn't make weight) and even then she still had competitive fights. Also her bjj is as good if not better than Gatos; most people dont know because she hasn't really used it, but she is a multiple time BJJ gold medalist. She also has really solid wrestling and has been able to wrestle**** most of her opponents for 5 minutes or more in almost every fight she's had. I had some doubts about her return, but she made weight and not only that, she looked great on the scales. Finally, gatto is a massive step down compared to the competition she faced at BW.

Daukaus has the same offensive advantages to do to Lewis what Gane did, but I dont know if he's got the athletic ability to safely stand in front of him. He's gonna get hit a lot more than Gane did. How's he gonna hold up to that?

Leavitt has wrestling credentials? Coulda fooled me. His takedown defense is god awful and all his shoots consist of the same jab feint setups over and over again. All Sayles really has to do is not get too wild and smash Jordan’s face through the back of his head and onto Paul Felder’s lap as he screams like a two year girl. If Sayles plays his cards right, Jordan’s takedown ratio should consist of 2/24 or something ridiculous like that. Also, I’d like to point out Jordan’s best wins are against a 9 - 1 kickboxer and the mentally ******** Matt Wiman. Not exactly top class competition on his part

Yeah that’s the biggest question for me. Daukaus moves like a middleweight so I’m thinking he should be able to avoid punches from the lethargic Derrick Lewis, but I could also see Lewis clipping him in an exchange; especially if he lets his hands fly. I think likely his volume and speed will be too much. If he’s really scared of Lewis he could try grappling, as he’s pretty solid there, but as we know Lewis will probably just stand back up

CDF vs GAMROT

When I looked at this matchup pre-tape I was heavily leaning Gamrot and i thought the -188 line would be a nice parlay piece. After watching tape I'm not so sure how I feel about it.

For the first round and a half CDF is going to give Gamrot problems. Although he knocked out a 37 year old Holtzman, Gamrot is very vulnerable on the feet. He likes to hand fight but it always leads to punches getting through and he's been clipped before. I honestly think CDF will have the crisper striking with a lot more pop behind his punches.

All this being said, Gamrot wants his fights on the ground. While he is a very impressive wrestler and accomplished grappler, CDF is a 3rd degree black belt. Even when Gillespie would take CDF down, he was getting reversed or CDF would transition to the back. It is worth noting that Gregor had about 5 minutes of control time, but GG is a former NCAA Div 1 wrestler. Gregor was also stumbling after round 1 because of how tired he was and said afterwards that it was all heart that got him the victory. That fight was basically all scrambles. I don't see Gamrot being able to put that pace on CDF. Gamrot doesn't have great top control either and Guram Kutateladze was able to create opportunities to stand up just from omoplata attempts.

The weigh ins will be very telling. If CDF misses his gas tank will most likely be compromised but it will also be harder for Gamrot to work takedowns. This could be a good live betting spot, but I wouldn't be entirely surprised if CDF gets it done.

yeah cdf is a great litmus test for the elite; look who hes lost too. Gamrot did give up a lot of positions on the ground but you do have to take into account that guram is likely on the same level as him skill wise; guram is probably a top 5 unranked LW right now. Gamrot is also a very credentialed wrestler, so dont let these easy slip ups on the ground deter you from thinking Diego can get up easily; gamrot is an ADCC grappling gold medalist and has won multiple wrestling titles in Poland. Hes also fought great submission guys like Mansour Barnoui and Kleber Koike Erbst so I think he is prepared against submission threats

also for daukaus he just has to be careful at all times or else he will get ko'ed. He lost to zu ayanwu because he got hit cleanly with a punch. gotta be safe at all times or else lewis will flatline him. Mostly with his kicks tho, he should be fine with regular striking; I think his fight iq is high enough. He lost from throwing a lazy kick and got hammered with a counter right. His kicks in general I really just think he should stay away from. he threw one and stumbled against oleinik, which could be problematic should he do the same against lewis. hes also very good in the clinch so if he can get close enough to lewis he can do some work there.

He beat Ngannou, Volkov and Blades when he was underdog but get knocked out by Hunt, JDS, Mitrionne and Shawn Jordan.
