Your breakdown kicked ass @Damien, and I think this card is definitely a gamblers paradise or a gamblers nightmare. Part of me thinks Burgos's pressure should be a kryptonite of Barboza, but then again Burgos doesn't have any wrestling to mix up his pressure. I go back and forth on a lot of picks, and ultimately I have no bets on this card except for the main even to end inside the distance and Tony/Beneil to go over 1.5.

I've got a Giagos-Pickett-Grundy parlay. I'm moreso fading their opponents than betting on them, which is always flimsy. But it'll be over with early.

I think Schnell is probably the safest pick? I thought that before the weight miss by Bontorin.

Like someone mentioned earlier, this card can be a gambling paradise or nightmare because I really don't know what in the world is going to happen.   My strongest lock on the card is Jamie Pickett.  I just don't think Jordan Wright is all that good.  I also think there is going to be a TON of finishes on this card much like the card in Jacksonville was, so I bet several fights to end inside the distance such as Barboza/Burgos, Giagos/Soriano and I also have Lee and Shevchenko going to decision.

I even sprinked some money for Jamie Pickett to win by first round TKO but I'm not sure that will happen, it's worth a shot though.

Some scales just weigh heavy. I remember my buddies showing up to wrestling meets and first thing they'd ask that morning. Hows the scale? is it weighing light, heavy or spot on today. Sometimes they can just be that way. Nothing crazy but some can be a couple ounces heavy or light. it happens. i believe this is why most of the fighters had the confused "go **** yourself" look. The scale in the back must have been weighing light or the media one was weighing a few ounces heavy

There's definitely wiggle room and human error when it comes to these old school scales. I know it'd make purists and boxing writers in fedoras lose their ****, but technology has long since solved the "how much does this weigh?" problem. It doesn't need to be some guy tapping a slide until he feels like it's "close enough".

It must be like old baseball guys crossing their arms at indisputable 4K instant replay. Like it'd somehow ruin the integrity of the sanctity of the purity of the etc etc.

Grundy vs Vannata

Predictions: 4 of 12 Winners, 1 Perfect, 240 Points   |   Tied for 3474th

I feel good about Grundy simple for the fact he knows who he is, a wrestler. I don't think he is a fighter to stray from the obvious game plan of control time and takedowns. Standing and banging with Vannata WILL NOT be the part of it, its been shown Vannata is susceptible to being taken down and controlled.

But lets be honest...

This is MMA, anyone has a punchers chance.

Makes me wonder... IF Dana gave the guy working the scale the "Make Sure Khabib Makes Weight" nod, like I believe he did, Dana must like and know how to abuse the human error of an old school scale.

We've seen Dana move whole events specifically so fighters could pass drug tests. He's not above a lil tampering.

Then some new commission guy comes along and with his heavy fat fingers weighs every fighter 0.3 over the limit, and everyone's got to try again...

Yeah, I've never weighed in on a mechanical scale. The commission always bring a medical (digital) scale. I'm not sure why the UFC exclusively uses it, cause the scale they use to check their weight before going out is digital lol. Maybe because it allows the audience to see the scale coming to weight?

Call me brilliant but I think I've devised the perfect way to find out if both guys made weight:

This is a HUGE step up in competition for Andre Muniz.  Literally, his last fight was against Fabinski who any decent BJJ artist could tap out in the first round.  Jacare has been fighting absolute killers for the past 10 years all over the world whether in Japan, Strikeforce or in the UFC.

I really can't see how Muniz wins this.. he is primarily a grappler.  Jacare has better striking and Muniz has been knocked out 4 times already in his career.

I get it that Jacare has been knocked out before by the likes of Holland, Whittaker and Mousasi but all 3 of those guys in their primes would mop the floor with Andre Muniz.

I got Jacare by TKO for that one.
