i love jds hes a great fighter and im not biased at all honestly.

and their past record has nothing to do with their rank today otherwise royce gracie would be ranked or chuck lidell wuld be ranked

his recent record is quite nice actually especially his run with k-1

The same guy that claims Aoki's opponents and achievements aren't enough to merit even being in the top ten thinks that Overeem's opponents and acheivements merit being number one!

That sort of thing should be encouraged when applicable.  It was used in a timely manner.

Saying Overeem should be ranked because of his kickboxing achievements is like saying James Tony should have been ranked bcause he's a boxing champion or Roger Gracie because he's a BJJ champion. It's a nice accomplishment but has nothing to do with his MMA ranking.

Overeem is a better striker in K-1 than he is in MMA.  Something to do with takedowns or some ****.

Personally I don't think Overeem should be ranked #1 for reasons described above.

However, at least you could argue why you think Overeem would/could beat JDS and the other fighters.  You couldn't reasonably argue how James Toney or Travis Browne would do the same.

My point is, there's "questionable" heavyweight rankings, and there's "unacceptable" heavyweight rankings.  These are questionable.

It's the combination of takedowns and little gloves in my opinion.

Highly questionable, Gregory.  The aggregate rankings are kind of fishy, and this is why.  Should have a grading system like MMAPlayground or something.

Good point about the gloves, Mino, way easier to hit and KO people when your fists are larger and heavier due to ridiculous boxing/kickboxing gloves.

after watching MMA so long, boxing gloves just look silly to me now.

As I said I don't think it's correct to rank Overeem #1.  But he's one fight away from fighting for the title, so at least he's right in the mix.  That's better than a nonsensical ranking.

If we're ranking Overeem because of his kickboxing achievements, and James Toney for his boxing achievements.. can we rank Cung Le because of his Sanshou achievements? :)

I think Brock deserves more credit for his WWE titles.  Overeem could never perform a shooting star press.

Even if you don't like Pro Wrestling, you can't tell me Undertaker vs Lesnar Hell in a Cell isn't a badass ******* match.
