i don't know if it's just me but 95 % of fight movies seem to suck and have the EXACT same concept of avenging something for someone or not wanting to fight until being pushed into a corner to where they can take no more.  are there any good ones out there besides...

I really enjoyed the first Ong Bak movie. Drunken Master whith Jackie Chan is legendary. Also, i thought Hero was great, although it definitely belongs in a different Genre than the likes of Bloodsport or Ong Bak.

Bloodsport is a classic!  The first Ong Bak is really good, but didn't care for the others.  The Protector is pretty good, well at least the fight scenes are...

Bloodsport is probably my favorite as well, there are a lot of other martial arts based movies I like that I wouldn't put in the same category as Bloodsport. The Karate Kid (not the kung fu kid remake) is a drama with a martial arts base and a fantastic film. Somebody mentioned Hero which is a wonderfully done film but very different and not really comparable. Of course I like Enter the Dragon, of the films I listed that's probably closest to that martial arts B-movie genre that Bloodsport would fall into. Movies I would put into that category are like Ong Bak, Kickboxer, a lot of Segal's films, Bruce Lee's stuff, most early Jackie Chan up until he started doing American films, Best of the Best, American Ninja, and a ton of other low budget Martial Arts films that fill the DVD shelves. If you are talking just fight films then I would include the boxing movies like Rocky, The Fighter, Cinderella Man, Diggs Town etc.

Bloodsport, Ong Bak 1, The Protector (really dug this a few years ago), and Unleashed (Jet Li) are some great martial arts films.

@ian729, I agree all the way on Enter the Dragon.  Probably one of the best martial arts films of all time.

I also love a lot of Jet Li films like Kiss of the Dragon, Unleashed, Fist of Legend, etc.  Iron Monkey with Donnie Yen was bad ass.  I enjoyed The Protector, strictly for the fight scenes.  The dialogue and acting sucked as much as you would expect from third rate foreign film.

true story: Anderson Silva was inspired by Tony Ja to try the 6-12 elbow that he used to KO Tony Frikland. His team didn't think it was a legitimate technique so they wouldn't help him train for it. He practiced it at home on a pillow with his wife.

You need to see Ong Bak

Ong Bak 2 must have the most amount of fighting in a movie ever, plus it has the 4 minute unedited (completely all one shot) staircase fight, pretty amazing stuff, one thing goes wrong and you have to start the whole scene again.
