I thought being humble was a supposed christian trait. I dont want to get into a big religious debate over this just funny to me how hypocritical that is....

Well I do understand you have to have a backbone and come off confident. It honestly has an affect in the mental aspect towards an opponent. Look at GSP/Hughes. They put a lot of time and sacrifice into their career and it's draining. When you have the best fighters in the world wanting to beat you and prove a point, and every fight is a defining moment. You sometimes need that motivational pull to help you succeed. Sometimes that comes off arrogant or ****y, but to them it's motivation and belief in themselves.
That's why I don't dig too deep into their personas they show on camera. Most of it is for their own motivation. GSP's motivation is to be classy and show respect. He's matured greatly since his first debut in the UFC. He probably felt like an unstoppable force until he was rocked by Serra. If Jon Jones starts becoming ****y(There's a fine line between ****y and confident) and doesn't lose a fight in a long time. Then I'll start hoping he starts losing.

A lot of people don't like Jones or Evans. However they are without a doubt the 2 best lhw's in the world. I really like both guys and don't believe that they're that ****y. Confidence comes to mind though. Jones or Evans don't really bash their opponet verbally or say a bunch of disrespectful things like a BJ Penn does or a Nick Diaz. But it's funny cuz people love those guys. For me I didn't have that great of an opinion of Jon Jones until I met him. That changed my perception of him completley.

@Pierce believe it or not I want him to lose too. So he can realize he can't beat everyone and isn't invincible. I just don't state it. I honestly don't care if Rampage beats Jones. I like Rampage and think he's been through a lot in his career and has had a lot of doubters. A lot of media for one person and wants to prove a point. If Rampage has his hand raised I'm going to be happy. If Jones wins I'll just think to myself. "I knew it".
I think I'm just really unbiased when it comes to predictions. Unless it's Cro Cop because I just hate seeing him lose.
So here's to "hoping" Rampage can win. If he can weather the storm and land that hook on Jones chin might see a new LHW Champion.

Everyone who's met him have changed their mind about him, because they've met the real Jones, not the on screen Jones. I couldn't give a **** anyway, it's MMA not a popularity contest. I want to watch the best fighters not the canniest lads.

Your hope of Jones losing will come true when he fights Rashad. Jones won't lose to a one dimensional fighter. But hopefully at least we see Jones's chin get tested by one of Rampage's bungalows!!!

I hate seeing crocop lose too.  I just dont like jones.  I know and respect the fact that he is a world class fighter, and currently the best in the division.  I understand and am impressed with how thoroughly he beat one of my favourites in shogun.  I just really dont like him.  As close to wishing for bad things to happen to a person that hasnt done anything personal to me, I wish for jones.  He just bothers me everytime he opens his mouth and i hear it.

I use to think like that with Sonnen now I know he's just trolling and it's a marketing strategy. So I have learned to like Sonnen weirdly enough lol. I can tell he's a decent guy in person.
Jones does kind of come off phony. But eventually we might see his true colors when a fighter comes along and gets under his skin.
I'm just pumped to see Rampage/Jones now!

Jones just seems fake. Like hes trying to be this nice stand up guy but really hes a **********. He might be nice to fans he meets but most guys are. I mean it take a special kind of scum bag to blatantly disrespect their own fans. Maybe Im wrong about the guy but thats the vibe I get.

@piercerdan

Unfortunately, being hypocritical seems to be what Jones does best. He talks about being a good Christian, but he has kids with his girlfriend/fiancee out of wedlock. He talks about being a role model, but when he told Dana White about how he stopped the mugger before his title fight, Jones was cursing like a sailor (it was on one of DW's video blogs but the UFC has since deleted it in order to protect Jones' image). He talks about humility, but then we hear about him talking trash to Rashad Evans at a nightclub with no provocation (Rashad talked about it the last time he was on Inside MMA).

I respect the insane amount of talent that the man has, but Jon Jones is as fake as a three dollar bill in my opinion.

This man isn't perfect, and he never claimed to be.

I'll put it how Jon Jones would,

Matthew 7:5
"You hypocrite, first take the plank out of your own eye, and then you will see clearly to remove the speck from your brother's eye."

@xbassist

Nobody said he claimed to be perfect, but he has claimed other things that he proceeded to fall short of.

I don't doubt that he wants to be all of the things he speaks of being, and I don't knock him for making efforts to better himself through Christ. I criticize Jon Jones for not being comfortable with who he is before trying to be a role model to someone else.

1Samuel 16:7

But the Lord said to Samuel, “Do not look on his appearance or on the height of his stature, because I have rejected him. For the Lord sees not as man sees: man looks on the outward appearance, but the Lord looks on the heart.”
