Alvarez is too hittable, IMO. And after getting brutalized in his last one, and with Poirier looking more and more confident and accurate, I think this is going to be a tough night for Eddie.

Prediction: Alvarez  |  KO/TKO  |  Round 1

Dustin has shown time and time again that he can get drawn into brawls easily though, and he did so against Miller. I think that he's gonna be way too aggressive and will get caught.

If he plays it smart, he can definitely win, but I don't think he's going to. That Jim Miller fight really made me question his fight IQ. Although I guess that he's sometimes hit and miss. He can display great IQ like he did against Duffy, by taking him down once things started to get dangerous on the feet, but he can also display really bad IQ, like when he swung for the fences against Miller, and was overaggressive against Johnson.

Man, Eddie still sounds punch drunk in his interviews, the same as he did just after the Conor fight. I don't know if he just gets a stutter when he loses confidence, but I think the effects of that fight are still lingering.

I probably like Dustin more but he doesn't have multiple speeds, he kind of walks and throws combos. Yes he has wrestling but it's more of a rounded grappling arsenal whereas Eddie has the wrestle**** decision strong wrestling game that I think will play to his advantage. I can see Eddie having reasonable success on the feet utilizing movement and trying to be calculating, mixed in with some points oriented takedowns that Dustin will be in a poor position to defend.

Nothing unfortunate about it for Eddie. He was 2 rounds in the whole landed more than one illegal shot and managed to get out without a loss

yes, it was unfortunate. The first two knees were legal and if he would have followed up with pinches, he would have gotten the TKO.

^^^ Think it's pretty hard to say that he would have gotten the TKO with punches. I don't think Poirier was in that much danger but that illegal knee definitely hurt him. Poirier was picking Eddie apart, I think Poirier would have won if that knee didn't happen, but who really knows.

Eddie was losing yes, but he was taking over that fight and had Poirier hurt bad before the knee and in that 3rd round Eddie was probably gonna be fresher, tko or would've been a close dec

Guess I will have to watch it again, probably had my blinders on because I'm a huge Poirier fan but I didn't think he had him that hurt.

Yea I agree wih MikeG. They both hurt, but Eddie thrives off that type of brawl.  You could see Poir once hurt started standing in front of Eddie. The longer that went, I think the more that favored Eddie. Poir was def pretty rocked, which is why he was standing in front of Eddie, when previously he was using range and movement.

To me porrier didn't seem hurt at all till the knees it was a well timed takedown near the end of the round it wasn't going to win Eddie the round but instead the nonsense that followed after helped him avoid a loss. If porrier was hurt he would of shot imo

He seemed rocked by Eddie's punches to me, as soon as he got hit, he backed up near the fence and didn't even try to fight the takedown. Which is weird, considering that he was very successful stuffing them.
