I love Sam as much as the next guy, but this is a pretty tough style matchup for him.

Leites can scrap with most guys out there, and if he gets Alvey down early, Alvey is probably fuct.

Alvey apparently has good sub defense and Leites is no takedown artist. So this looks like a tedious fight that will go the distance and that could end in a weird type of split decision.

leites is probably gonna look to clinch a lot and sam will stuff most of them. for me, it's really a question of what alvey's output is gonna be like in between those clinches. i think it'll be enough.

That would definitely be quite the feat. I was going through Leites' record a while back, and saw that he had only been finished once; a submission loss to Matt Horwich.

He was getting hurt quite badly by Boetsch though, so Alvey could catch him. I think it will go the distance and that Sam will win another decision.

Thales Leites is sloppy on the feet and his wrestling is sloppy. Sam Alvey isn't a great fighter but he is strong and has good punches. He has the power to rock Leites badly and I think he probably moves faster and move explosively than Leites. If Leites had good movement i'd be more confident he could use his high level competition experience and move outside of Alveys flurries but because he plods so much I can't imagine he can avoid the power for as long as he will need to. He also gets progressively more sloppy as the fight wears on. I think Alvey's power will carry longer than Leites attention to detail and focus.

I agree. Would love to be wrong but I think Alvey's constant "wait to counter or don't throw at all" strategy can only take him so far. Leites is a notch above that, imo.

I don't get the Alvey hype in this fight, Leites has a great chin, better wrestling, grappling, jiu jitsu, cardio. I can see Alvey winning if he mangages to stay upright, but I see this hitting the ground.

Leites by SUB or UD.

It because Leites is extremely hittable, he a very sloppy striker and has looked like **** since USDADA came a knocking. He gotten more sloppy striking, he no longer has the same power, and looks weaker. I understand what you mean if he gets him down, but if he strikes like he done is his last several fights, he likely getting knocked out or out struck. Also I think your wrong about the cardio. If this goes the distance even if Alvey losses, he be winning the third round and likely by a large margin.

Enough with the USADA speculations, you're always on that false accusation ****. Leites has been fighting higher level competition now. Also, the lack of output from Alvey will be a issue for him with Top 20s. I think he's overrated, but he could win this against an aging Leites, sure.
