Another great fight for 207, but this is where I think Lineker's run ends. According to ESPN, Dillashaw recently restructured his UFC deal. Third high-profile fighter I can think of to do so in the last few months after Weidman and Rockhold.

30-27 UD for Dillashaw. Lineker gets picked apart and generally given a clinic on the feet.

Lets get to the real question here... does Lineker make weight? If he makes weight he loses a UD; if he misses weight he's going to knock TJ senseless.

How the **** is this on the prelims? Demote Hendricks vs Magny to the prelims for this epic battle of a fight. Honestly it makes the card look pretty sick though, but **** Magny vs. Hendricks over this fight.

Most likely their "headlining the prelims" thing ... put on a crazy-ass fight as the last free TV fight and you sell a few extra last minute PPVs leading into the main card.

Also, they need to start upping their FOX/FS1 ratings since they've been dropping and they don't want their next deal to be crap.

Lineker has been on a monster run, but Dillashaw is a former champion and he is looking great too. I thought that Dillashaw should have got the rematch against Cruz, and Lineker should have fought Garbrandt for the #1 contender spot.

If T.J. wants to win this fight, he need to strike from the outside, some serious footwork and keep his back off the fence. Lineker is a master in setting people up and putting you exactly where he wants before he starts dropping bombs on you. Can't wait for this fight!

tj has thrived on being the more powerful striker, but i don't think he's going to want to brawl. he'll need to do his best impression of dom.

Lineker is completely underrated and I think tj is really overrated.

Stone hands by KO just like dodson did to him

Tj is beast

He has some of the best footwork in the division IMO and is on a different level than anyone not named Cruz IMO

I'm hearing that the winner of this fight may not get the next title shot. If linekar wins, I'm ok with someone else getting the shot based on weight issues, but if TJ wins and doesn't get the shot, that's some ********. He arguably won the first fight with Cruz. That was razor close, and I always lean towards the champ on those close decisions. Plus beating linekar and raphael is more impressive than any wins either Dom or Cody are sporting in that same timeframe

Back to the fight, I actually see tj pulling something similar to what he did against Barao and winning a decision or landing a finishing combo in the 3rd round. But linekar is tough so most likely a decision for tj. Great fight though.

I doubt the winner of this fight doesn't get the shot.

If TJ wins, he's got a super great grudge fight with either Dom or Garbrandt.

If Lineker wins ... him vs. Garbrandt is two meatheads slugging until one of them falls which is always fun, and beating someone like TJ (who's closest to Dom in style) would make that him vs. Cruz would actually make sense.

Add that to the fact that both TJ and Lineker are way more marketable than Caraway and Rivera at this point (who are the only other contenders close enough to leapfrog TJ or Lineker) and I find it hard to see this fight's winner not getting the shot.

Also, putting them on the same card is all but officially announcing it as a title contention fight.

I think the only way that happens is if Lineker misses weight and beats TJ.

@biotim34 He's going to need that footwork, his chin isn't on another level.Being on a different level technically doesn't always net you the win.Tenacity and power coupled with an insane chin can be a killer. It's not like Lineker is some Mike Perry character either,he's got some great skills.

@mbach4307 Cruz has shown no interest in a rematch,he is pretty smart after all,and the UFC for some reason goes along with the wishes of their champions lately. It's pretty ridiculous,TJ would be the clear next title challenger if he won decisively this weekend.

I doubt TJ can dance around Lineker for 3 rounds, he'll get cracked hard at some point and his chin is questionable, I think he will crumple in a pile at some point from punishment. The level Lineker is on right now is right up there at the top. I really wanted to see Lineker vs DJ

It's just what I'm hearing. That if tj wins, they are looking at all options. Which to me is a joke. If tj wins and doesn't get the shot, that would be the worst of any #1 contender getting passed up. Even worse than Holloway or khabib because tj was the champ and arguably won his fight with Dom. Plus tj defended his belt 3 times prior to fighting Dom. To me, no other fight would interest me as much as tj vs Dom if both win. Same with garbrandt vs tj. Fill in linekar for tj if he were to win and the same can be said(as long as weights not an issue). But of course it's safe to assume that most of us are fight fans and not fair weather/casual fans so who cares what we think..lol.
