I like it, who else are they going to give him? Ruan Potts? He's already in line to be maimed and cut. Guys just outside the top 10 are probably who you'll be seeing Cro Cop fight due to his name alone. You give him someone in the top 10 and he's probably going to get beat to death. Might as well go with a rematch that produced arguably the greatest KO in UFC history. They should let him have this fight, and then win or lose give him a fight with Frank Mir or a retirement fight for both he and Big Nog in Japan.

He DID specifically ask for rematches in his return. It's depressing that we're gonna see him get obliterated again. The only reason they're bringing him back is his usefulness now that they're expanding globally.

^Steroids ruined Cro Cop. Dude used to literally throw away opponents who would try to shoot but his muscles and bones are so brittle now that he'd probably break a hip if he tried to do **** like that now.

I don't know why, but I am just plan excited for this fight. I have always been a big fan of Mirko's and I respect him and his accomplishments to MMA and K-1. But one of the things that really is a huge thorn to his legacy is being apart of one of the greatest posterizations in MMA history. The knockout that happened 8 years ago, but do to its iconic stature it feels like just recently that "Cro Cop got Cro Coped". This fight will probably end in a finish, and I am really really hoping it is a win for the Croatian, to me out of all the rematches that could have happened for him, this one might mean the most. I know you might be thinking, "What about a rematch with Fedor, or Nog, Nelson, JDS, or Schaub?" He did lose to all of them. But the thing is, out of all of them, what made this monster that we saw win the 2006 PRIDE Grand Prix look human all of a sudden? It was that knockout. So this fight might not be an intense slobber knocker, but what I am excited for is to see if Mirko can in fact redeem himself. I believe in the Cro Cop.

I'll only be happy with this decision if he gets some fights he can and does win. Otherwise I'm going to be a little annoyed that the UFC hired a 40 year old legend that had no business fighting the elite of the division anymore when he could have gone to Bellator and potentially wiped out their entire HW division while taking far less damage, both physically and to his legacy. I honestly think the UFC needs better scouts or whoever makes decisions on who should get offered a contract. Julio Cesar Neves could have come in, won a few fights, and automatically been a legitimate prospect in a division that needs depth. Paul Daley could have come back after seemingly turning over a new leaf in his life and put on some entertaining fights and possibly upset a few top 10 WWs. Will Brooks could have made an impact in the LW division. Ben Askren could make an immediate impact in the WW division. All these guys get passed over for a 40 year old heavyweight who when given opportunities in the past in the UFC when he was much closer to his prime amassed a record of 4-6 in the UFC with 5 of those 6 losses coming by either KO or SUB to strikes. Including being knocked out by Frank Mir, and Brendan Schaub. Dana is always so quick to talk about fighter safety being the number 1 priority and that he'd never choose to make money off a guy fighting who shouldn't be fighting, and then they offer guys like Cro Cop and CM Punk contracts. That seems a little bit contradictory, but, hey, what do I know? Prior to UFC Fight Night in Poland Cro Cop will be getting praised by Dana as the top P4P fighter in the world.
