Confused? Dillashaw vs. Barao is Rumored for UFC 186, why can't Assuncao fight Tj then? Hasn't he earned a title shot or not?

For some reason I'm not really interested in this fight. I know it's two top five BW fighters but I think there's better match ups for these two.

Sucks that Assuncao likely loses this fight considering that he has done more than enough to earn a title shot

Faber hasn't looked like himself lately. Wasn't looking so well before they eye poke in his last fight. Raphael deserves the title shot more than anyone aside from Cruz. I see Raphael out striking Faber and getting a UD.

Why are they even doing this fight if Assuncao is healthy? Assuncao-Dillashaw II makes more sense than Assuncao-Barao II and I don't even see Barao drawing that much to justify the special treatment.

He did in the WEC so they could give him a title shot afterwards.

I thought the whole reason TJ/Barao 2 was happening was because Cruz was out, Assuncao was out, and Faber wouldn't fight him.

I thought Faber n Dillashaw were willing to fight? and doesn't Assuncao have a broken ankle, which is why he doesn't get title shot?

Faber said he won't fight TJ ... I think the UFC are trying to push him into a corner since he's the most marketable 135er they have.

I think they've sensed that if they really get on their case they'll agree to fight. Dom's injury kinda ****** them up in that sense ...

Exactly. If Faber beats Assuncao there will be no fighter for the winner of Dillashaw/Barao II to face while Cruz is recovering. I guess the UFC are banking on pushing Faber to fight Dillashaw.

Assuncao is injured and out of this fight. Gonna need a late replacement or another main event bites the dust. Injuries galore lately.

I kind of wish Lineker would step in. Would be nice seeing Faber fight someone decent that he hasnt already beat before. The fight is in Brazil and stepping up on short notice to help out would help get Lineker back in the good graces of people that dislike him for missing weight over and over and over. And if he somehow beat Faber if would get him that title shot he was hoping for at 125 pretty quickly at 135
