This is turning into a solid card what with Diego having a gauntlet match and all.

This is a great matchup! I really hope it is true. Diego hasn't looked great as of late and this could be a huge breakout fight for joe.

I know he got the win but I wasn't impressed with joe lauzon in his fight with  michael chiesa. My opinion he looked a little flat. If Joe can get this fight to the ground I think it's an easy night for Joe. If Diego can keep this  fight standing joe might want to practice keeping that chin tucked.

^ Seems like a legit game plan if the fight were still happening.

@UncleCreepy

what? Your are extremely off the mark in my opinion. Diego striking is friggin awful. Joe best chance of victory is keeping this standing. Diego has extremely high level BJJ game. Joe could submit him, but it is not where his best chances of victory lie. Diego ground game is extremely legit. He won number of grapler quest championships. He match Roy Nelson in grappling match who much larger then him. He done very well against high level graplers in BJJ matches. He also out grapple Nick Diaz in there fight. In fact Diego never been out graple in an MMA fight, so I really don't understand were your rational is coming from. In fact diego would be a much better fighter if he used his grapling and did not try and kick box everyone he fights.

Yea I know it got canceled, but that does not change the fact that guy 100% wrong and that for some reason people have gotten it in there head that Diego bad on the ground and better at striking which is the farthest thing from the truth. Diego strength is and has always been his ground game,but he just not  very smart and never uses it. All of his best wins and fights have all been when he takes the fight to the mat. People like Jon Fitch/Kos have boxed him up striking. He never been a good striker and pretty much made his name off his ground skills.
