Prediction: wrong Guillard   wrong KO/TKO   wrong Round 2

Lauzon better not come out hyper aggressive as his usual self or he'll get countered in a nasty fashion. Guillard may let Lauzon empty some of his gas tank with wild aggression, wisely dodging out of the way for a large chunk of the first round. I think he turns it on in the second round.

If Lauzon can slow the fight down, keep Melvin against the cage, & wear him down, then I can see him having a chance to submit Guillard in round 2 or 3. If he comes out & tries to match Melvin's intensity at the start of the fight........then it gets real ugly, real fast.

Prediction: correct Lauzon   correct Submission   correct Round 1

I think Lauzon's going to pull off the upset with a quick submission victory.  Guillard has looked great in his last couple of fights, but I can't remember his submission defence being tested much in those fights.  It's no secret that Guillard's weakness has always been his sub defence.  With that said I don't think Lauzon can afford to stand with Guillard for too long.

He can't afford to stand with him that long, and he wont get him down in the first round, Guillard by TKO early...

Going to be an amazing fight...while it lasts. Lauzon is a great fighter but he's going to take too many shots from the future of the LW division.

I think this bout is pretty hard to predict and will either go Guillard's way with a KO or Lauzon's with a submission of some sort. I would be more confident in Melvin but his shaky history with talented submission guys but there is no denying he has improved a whole lot. I really hope we get to see Lauzon test Melvin on the ground because if he just gets a quick KO without going to the ground I would still not have much confidence in him going into a title shot.

I think Guillard talking some smack about Lauzon is bad news for him. Lauzon is definitely the type of guy that feeds off of emotion.

I don't remember Guillard doing much talking in his previous fights, but then again i didn't have much time to follow interviews before his previous fights, i hope he isn't letting his head get too big due to his current winning streak, because he could be a force!

Lauzon is tough, Guillard is a killer. Nasty first round KO.

This is Melvin's coming out party. Everyone knows he's a stud, but he's going to run through J-Lau and open everyone's eyes to how much he's improved over the last year and a half.

I'm curious as to how many more people are for Guillard over Lauzon?

@fresno i think its just because melvin seems to have matured and gotten past his bs issues that held him back.  He seems to be training smart and to be around good people.  He hits like a truck and has decent wrestling.  Hes turning into a little black chuck liddel!

@Dan LOL so true!  I never drew comparisons between the two but it's a good point.  Although I've never seen his wrestling skills.

He was a wrestler.  Mostly now he uses his wrestling to not end up on the ground.
