Looks like the main event is set for this, Bader vs. OSP. Not a main event I was hoping for really, I was thinking of going to this since it's in Maine but I think I might pass on this card.

I can't see this fight being very good. Neither is great standing up and both are great grapplers. Could mean sloppy standup and/or takedown attempts o' plenty. We'll see. Hopefully I'm wrong.

Bader has been top 10 for a while, just cant get over the hump. OPS has been blowing through competition other than that stinker against villante. I dont mind the matchup, but definently not for a ******* main event.

This card is the same night that Bellator is running their season premier event, in the area too. Based on this main event, I guess the UFC decided it wasn't going to try to destroy Bellator's season premier.

In fact, depending on Bellator's card and main event, they could pull better ratings then the UFC this night.

Could also be that the UFC is just trying to **** with Bellator and this is the best they can do on short notice.

Liking these quick turn around for fighters, UFC keeping them busy. That's the only way to get fighters known is to make sure they are seen.

Bellator doesn't even have a fight in August, you guys are getting this confused with Fight Night 50, which is on a Friday night, in Connecticut. Just like Bellator 123

Yup, the least mouthwatering card from top to bottom in a long time ... the only fight I can say I'm interested in is Fun Size vs. Formiga ...

Lucky for them I don't skip cards :)

Not a fan of the main/co-main events. But overall, I like this card. Oddly enough, I'm excited for every fight on this card..  except for the final 2.

Trying to figure out which fights you're excited for

Sara McMann vs. Lauren Murphy - Meh.
Gray Maynard vs. Fabricio Camoes - Unless Camoes pulls of the craziest upset this fight is sucky matchmaking (not that I'd be flabbergasted if Maynard loses, he's been looking a bit depleted since Frankie stole his soul).
Ross Pearson vs. Abel Trujillo - Good fight, but nothing I'm excited for.
Shawn Jordan vs. Jack May - Never been a fan of the fatties, but could be a short explosive affair, again, nothing anticipation building.
Sam Alvey vs. Tom Watson - Ok. Not an Alvey fan (nor do I think he's going to bring anything special) and Kong always makes for a nice scrap, but nothing to get excited about.
Thiago Tavares vs. Robbie Peralta - Could be very good, though not a fan of either and Tavares still has time to pull out ... again ... though I could see some sort of excitement for this one.
Seth Baczynski vs. Alan Jouban - Solid prelim fight at best.

Not questioning your excitement, just trying to understand where it comes from ... maybe you can get me excited about this card too ;)

They've just managed to put together a weirdly 90% miss card (which means it'll most likely turn out to be a card of the year candidate ;) ).

So I wasn't planning on spending any money to go to this first show in my home state of Maine because the card isnt that great. However while I was camping with my family yesterday my brother in law gets a call from his friend who just won tickets to the UFC on the radio. And it just so happens his friend's sister is getting married that day so he cant attend so he is giving my brother in law the tickets.

So looks like I will be going to my 2nd UFC event now! Kind of excited to go now that I'm not paying haha!

Makovsky/Jussier and Mcmann / Murphy should be on the main card instead of Seth/Jouban and Jordan/May .

Makovsky and Jussier are both top 10 Flyweights and Mcmann is coming off a title loss and is fighting Invictas Former Champ . Jordan and may both stink BUT OMG HEAVYWEIGHTS SO MUCH POWER KNOCKOUTS AND STUFF . Seth is 1-3 in his last 4 fights and is fighting a newcomer to the UFC .

I don't get why Makovsky-Formiga is on the prelims either. Actually, it makes no sense. They're trying to sell PPVs with flyweight title fights now but a potential #1 contender flyweight fight gets stuck on the prelims of a pretty crappy on paper Fight Night card.

This whole card is a weird in-betweener ... neither of the main eventers is going anywhere too high, luckily Trujillo pulling out saved us from the Maynard/Camoes dud (though we still can hold them responsible for booking it in the first place), the only fight with any somewhat serious future implications is hidden on the undercard ...

It's kind of like they said, let's put all the people we don't really care about / don't really know what's going to happen with them on the same card and see who generates (or regenerates) some interest.

Seriously, this whole card is full of stagnant used-to-be-contenders, not-so-touted prospects and stuck-in-the-middle-without-giant-fanbase kind of guys, I find it hard to believe this is a coincidence ...

I guess if it turns out amazing Dana can always refer to it when he wants to call reporters that complain about cards goof, if it doesn't, well, that's not surprising to them and they've got a nice hefty cut list to trim some of the fat after a ****load of recent signings.

Still gonna watch of course, it's still a card with MMA in it :), just trying to figure out the strategy behind it (or maybe I'm over-thinking it and they actually think they've put together a kick-ass card).

It's definitely an ok card, it's like a nice song without a hook ... nice to listen to, some people might like it because it falls into their specific taste but most likely won't be a classic :)
