Well, I sounded ****y as hell in my last statement.

It isn't really about sucking Jones' ****, it is more about not accepting the praise that is routinely given to Glover. Number 2 contender? Really? I expect him to be beat by Jones because as I see it, what Jones lacks in power he compensates with athleticism and brains. Really, since Anderson Silva freaked out and started arguing with his corner in his last fight we can arguably say that Jones' fight IQ is the best in the UFC right now, and pretty much everything he does he does better than Glover.

How do you beat a fast opponent with more weapons than you, and who will consistently outsmart you in the cage? You land a lucky punch. I don't see Glover having more than a puncher's chance.

Of course, there is always the chance that Jones loses the first round and for some reason despairs like Anderson Silva did, but I don't see it happening. Sorry.

Don't get me wrong, Glover is a really good fighter who just knocked Bader out in the first round, but it will take more than that to defeat Jones.

Glover got clipped, yes. It happens in a fight. He still came back and won a 1st round tko. Something Jones couldn't do to Bader.

Make the fight. It's the one I wanna see. Jones is obviously the fav but can't count a guy like Glover out.

Anyway, as I see it we REALLY should be talking about Jacare right now. He annihilated Okami. I mean, during the fight Glover and Bader seemed to be evenly matched, while Jacare gave as much of a chance to Okami as Anderson Silva did.

I don't think I've ever thumbed someone down. Assuming you are talking to me.

EDIT: Now that I think about it, I did it once last week. But it wasn't because of diverging opinions.

I like that comment much more lol.

I wholeheartedly agree too.  I do think Jones will beat Glover.  Jones is just too strong in areas Glover is weak and stronger in areas Glover is strong.  I just think saying Jones is going to maul him is overstating it.  I think it's gonna play out similar to the Jones/Rampage fight.  Jones is gonna have to work for it but eventually Glover is gonna get tired and Jones is gonna have his way at that point in time.  I think Gus is truly the biggest threat to Jones but that's really all going to depend on how his tdd and jiu jitsu has come along.

I think Okami could do better than he showed tonight... that was just... not his best showing.  Not that he'd necessarily win but he should have been able to put up a better fight.

As for Jacare, it's great, it adds some new excitement at 185.  With Weidman's upset and everything else happening, the division is in a cool spot right now.

I hate these brazil cards, so many fighters I don't know anything about. So hard to pick just looking at their past few fights and guess what you think they're gonna do when you've never seen them. Just looking at their record and trying to figure out whats gonna happen. Can't believe that guy on the main card ruined my perfect record though! I will never get another card were i'll be this close to 100%

Poor Jones is suffering from the same fate Anderson Silva did. The most viable threats to his reign will be +500 underdogs at fight night, with the possible exception of Machida, who now won't face him anymore. GSP managed to be dominant without turning his division into a wasteland, and clear number 1 contenders who actually stood a chance still managed to emerge. I wonder why LHW is quickly losing its quality... I expect the PPV numbers to suffer.

@CONDIT: first off, great av. I was clearly talking about KO power. Glover had no chance to dominate Bader like Jones did, because he finished the fight very early, despite coming back from an adversity. I do think Jones is the favorite but you can't count a guy with such power out - simple as that.

I just want to see the fight. I'm just not convinced Glover is dead in the water. There's something about this guy and tonight he proved it to an extent. It's just my gut feeling. My opinion.

Next for Jacare? I don't know, after such a strong showing I think he deserves an incredibly tough guy, if that is what he wants. I am thinking Belfort or Machida.

@Idrownfish isn't he friends with Machida? Also Vitor is booked and wouldn't fight but for the title, right?

I wouldn't complain to see a Jacare rematch with Rockhold, actually... but with Luke coming off a loss I don't think this will happen next either.

Some question marks right there.

I really dislike Jones, but he will MERC Tex. Stun him with elbows, slice him up and choke him out in about 2 rounds or less. Way too many holes in his striking defense, seemed a bit chinny as well, and that isn't the best thing to be against Jones. He doesn't have the greatest punching power, but he always finds some way with his unorthodox striking to stagger and rock everyone. Dude's rocked Rampage and Shogun, and those 2 have two of the best chins in the whole sport.
