My goodness, Weidman's the dog and 63% are picking Andy? No hespect for the future Middleweight G.O.A.T. Weidman's getting the sub this time, Andy can go get boxed up by RJJ afterward.

I think people can't wrap their mind around the fact that someone is better then Anderson. Well Weidman is. He proved it once and he will again. The future is the present!!!

Here's how I see it going down... Andy is going to be pissed and will be all business. No showboating on Saturday, hands up and footwork ready. He'll literally try to finish him on his feet in rd. 1 or 2.

The big question mark for me is has Andy lost a step? Everyone that gets older does eventually. This in my mind will be answered at 168.

I'm picking Andy by ko in rd. 2. It's going to be textbook Muay Thai by the greatest 185 lb'er in history.

If Weidman wins, Anderson's best fights are behind him.

this fight is going to be a complete toss up. both fighters are in positions that they have never been in before and I have a feeling it is going to be a really surprising end to the fight no matter what happens

i wouldn't wish a split decision robbery on my worst enemy.  im still not over the fact Jones robbed Gus of his title, let alone gsp robbing hendricks.  i dont think my heart can handle another big robbery.

In terms of sheer fighting ability, I accept Anderson Silva as the GOAT.  Period.

Yes, I did consider his loss due to his fooling around.  But you know what?  I've been thinking a lot about that, and I've come to certain conclusions, which others came to earlier, due to deeper acumen than me.

I think that Anderson's so-called clowning and show-boating is a unique, incredibly creative defense to take-downs.  He invites the opponent to hit him with his hands down.  Because if the opponent suckers into that, he isn't thinking about shooting for the double-leg take-down, which is what Anderson most hates.

His antics are highly unorthodox strategy.  Like a cobra which mesmorizes its prey, so Anderson hypnotizes, beguiles, seduces, inviting the opponent to swing at him, thus de-emphasizing take-downs.

He is MMA's Muhammad Ali.  He is a combination of Muhammad Ali and Bruce Lee.  The most creative, imaginative, least predictable style of combat.  All the while putting on the most interesting, entertaining shows ever seen.  He is the closest thing to how Bruce Lee might have fought if born later.  The style without a style.

He is brilliant.  He is a ring general at all times.  He knows exactly what he's doing.  It's all calculated to keep the fight on the feet, and it works like a charm every time, except with Chael Sonnen.  Chael showed the world the blueprint to beat him, but it takes discipline to stick to the game plan.

That is not to say that Weidman cannot beat him again, but if he stands with him like last time, he will lose and the evening will end early.

@Bill: You just took Danaher's words and re-worded them as your own in the first half of that post, son. Don't think I won't catch these things. For I see all.

@skelliher  No.  I didn't.  I haven't even read this thread.  I was thinking those words at work this afternoon.  Even wrote them down in my Weekly Planner.

Don't have to believe me, but it's true nonetheless.

I guess people have forgotten the (years?) where Silva got boo'd because he was so "boring".

He's great, and even his "boring" fights interest me, but yeah....that happened.  It was a big thing.

"If there's a fight in a forest and no one is around to see it, why is it on PPV?"

Usually I'd make a prediction, but I don't really care about this fight. Consider this fight my enduring bathroom break. I'm just buying this PPV for the extra pre-lim fights at the end.

Does Dana White really, actually think this is the biggest event the UFC ever put on?  That's what he's said.

Take the Silva vs. Weidman fight out and the card is actually weak.  I think he's delusional.  But what's new?

Could you go a post without talking about Dana White? It's like some twisted demented love/hate you have for him.
