This couldn't be a favor.  It's too far out.  And even then, I see Chris Camozzi taking a fight on shorter notice against Jacare as more of a favor than Brandon Vera fighting Ben Rothwell.

He's taking a risk by moving back up to heavyweight and putting himself on the chopping block.  That simple really.  Unless Dana still has a semi-chub for his Shogun fight, I'd say he's done if he loses.

Vera is coming off one of his best performances in the UFC while Rothwell coming off a horrible performance vs Gonzaga.I think I'm leaning more towards Vera.If he avoids his hands and tires Big Ben out i can definitely see him decisioning Rothwell.

@Franklin880088 Firstly, stop with this 40 lbs. ******** because we don't know what they'll weigh at the day of the fight. Secondly, it's a heavyweight fight. If Vera weighs 40 lbs. less than the other guy it's his fault. It's not like he's signing up for a light heavyweight fight and Rothwell shows up weighing 260. He signs the paper knowing Rothwell might come in anywhere from 206 to whatever the max is. Secondly, how do we know it's a favor. Vera might be moving up because whatever damn reason he feels like. Whether it be him thinking he'll be more successful or the weight is easier for him.

@grizzlyedwin:
"It would be funny if they do Vera vs. Mir II after this if Vera wins."

I'm totally okay with that. The Mir today would rip off Vera's arm. Vera made a name for himself for beating a post-motorcycle accident Mir and didn't start getting back to where he once was until he submitted Antoni Hardonk.

Now, I don't think Mir will ever win the championship again, but he would definitely tear through Vera now.

@Mortis Elliot Marshall almost tore Vera's arm off in their fights, Mir would definitely do it without hesitating like he did to Big Nog.

Why put a mediocre light heavyweight against a mediocre heavyweight?  This fight has no appeal to me.
