Belfort is too fast and powerful, and i dont see Akiyama taking him down at all, Akiyama will try to trade but will be sadly mistaken.

Akiyama is very predictable but has a good chin. That's why i'm going with the decision.

C'mon people, get Akiyama to heavy underdog so I can get my huge upset award.

But seriously, I think Akiyama has a good chance here, Akiyama has never been KO'd and Vitor fades when things aren't going his way, Akiyama could steal a decision with some Leonard Garcia aggression.

Vitor wins with a violent KO of Akiyama. I know Akiyama has a good chin and has never been knocked out but Vitor's striking is just ridiclous. This fight won't take long. Vitor deserves another title shot after he wins this fight!!!

Akiyama starts strong by mixing up the fight with his wrestling. In the middle of the second he drops the game plan and gets aggressive. This of course will lead to him being smashed with a Belfort special. Game over man.

This will probably be the last time we see Akiyama in the UFC for a while.

@geezhound, I don't see how they couldn't cut him.  He's lost three in a row and only had one win in the UFC.

I agree. But he may fight his way back if he has a good run elsewhere.

Honestly, there's no way Akiyama wins this, I don't see why he keeps getting tougher and tougher match ups. However, it should be a fun fight, and if Akiyama gets another FOTN performance he may get spared his walking papers, it would be 4 fights, 4 FOTN's. We'll see.

You kidding? Akiyama gets the next title shot if he loses here! He's been progressively getting tougher opposition after every loss. Lose to Leben, get Bisping. Lose to Bisping, Get Belfort. He's gonna lose his way to the title!

So eventually he'll lose to Cain if he survives the gauntlet.

@p4pgoat, Belfort didn't deserve the first title shot. However I do believe he will finish Akiyama.

I will be picking Vitor by tko as well as most of you. Akiyama's gas tank is pretty poor, he's usually gassed out by the second. If you leave any opening against Belfort, he will capitalize. I don't think Sexyama makes it to the judges.

Akiyama relies to much on his right hand especially when he is tired.

If Akiyama loses but puts on another exciting perfomance, I could see Dana have him move to Strikeforce as compensation instead of firing him.
