The reason the UFC "won't" let the fight happen, Bill, is because Ronda Rousey refuses to fight Cyborg at 145. Ronda has stated she won't fight Cyborg ever at 145 since she won the 135 belt. I bet you the UFC would do the fight in a microsecond if Ronda got on board. Ultimately it is up to Cyborg to drop some muscle mass if she wants to fight Ronda...at 135.

The real problem is the total incompetence of how the UFC handled the UFC women's division. They should've introduced 145 only, for the reason that every woman that fights at 135 could fight at 145 and they wouldn't have to cut their 145 roster. First fight could've been Ronda/Cyborg for the 145 title. If you're only gonna do one division it should be larger, not smaller, that way more people can be included.

Rousey won't fight unless it is at 135. Rousey has made it quite clear. Cyborg getting popped for steroids that allow her to retain muscle mass during weight cut pretty much destroyed any leverage she has to arguing which weight the fight would be at.

She fought at 135 before ^^

I guess we all know the answer...

I also think it doesn't help if you have Tito Ortiz as manager, seriously who would hire that dude.

Hope it happens in the future but for that to happen Cyborg prolly has to get rid of Ortiz and some other "stuff"

Real fighters are willing to fight at different weights. Penn, Sanchez, Diaz, Sherk, Shields, etc. Too many to list.

Looks to me as if Rousey is afraid of Cyborg. She could fight at 145 without putting her title on the line. If she really wanted to fight her.

So Bill, Rousey (the 135 champion) should move up in weight to fight the champion of a now-defunct mma orginization?

That makes about as much sense as GSP moving up in weight to fight Robbie Lawler, the last MW champion of Elite XC.

And Cyborg could fight at 135 if she really didnt want to take steroids. It works both ways , only difference is Rousey is the champ she has no reason to budge.
