ON @InsideMMAaxstv @titoortiz says Cyborg asked @danawhite for her release yesterday

I hope she doesnt go to Invicta and dirty up that Org. Plus with Marloes dropping to 135 the only fights shes got over there are Gomes and Budd.

I'm so sick of hearing about Cyborg vs Rousey. It's just going around in circles. We all know that Rousey refuses to go up to 140 to fight. And at first Cyborg couldn't make the weight, then she said the fight would happen but that she need time to make the weight and a few fights before. Now it's back to she can't make weight. She just needs to completely make up her mind. If she doesn't drop to 135 and the UFC never adds a 145 lb women's division, Cyborg will fall into a state where she's no longer relevant in women's mma.

I just saw the Primetime telecast on Rousey.  She seems like a nice enough person.  I still don't know much about her.  I learned she was an Olympic judo fighter.  That's good.

The UFC is investing a huge amount of PR in her.  God help her if she loses.  The UFC will not appear very bright if she loses.

I also learned her opponent is gay.  Didn't know that either.  That might be a harder sell in terms of PR.  The selling of women's MMA is tricky and they will have to be flexible.  This is not a forgone conclusion that women's fighting will succeed.  It could still be still-born.  I'm crossing my fingers.

The UFC should be promoting more than a single women in order to build fan support.  To over-invest in Rousey while ignoring all the other women is not bright marketing.  They need to go broader than that, excuse the pun.

Not only was Rousey just an Olympic fighter, she was the first US Woman to ever medal in Judo, it was Bronze but still historic. Her grappling ability is unmatched in WMMA, the only women who I think could stand a chance are Sara McMann or Marloes Coenen. She will still jab her way into a clinch, throw her opponent down, and secure the armbar. She really is that good despite what her many detractors say.
