I dunno about wrapping the sub ... looked to me like he was too disoriented to even go for them ... I'm starting to suspect his BJJ black belt that everyone's been talking about ... Just the way he conducted himself on the ground, he didn't look like someone who's got automatic BJJ moves (something I'd expect from a black belt) ...

Look at Frank Mir for instance, he was rocked by Big Nog and was caught in submissions and the escape/reversal motions were automatic for him ... JDS looked like he had to be with all his senses and actually think about it, which is cool, unless you take pride in a BJJ black belt.

Lombard/Okami would be great, I would give the edge to Lombard due to his power and Okami's chin has been very questionable lately

This is the fight I expected the first time they met.  But JDS didn't let that happen.  I knew better than to say I expected this.  The house was so sure it would be a repeat of last time that I realized real fast that to go against the house would only have cost me my point score altogether.  For myself or anyone else to suggest that this might have happened would have resulted in my being crucified.

If anyone had dared suggest this would have happened would have been to invite an avalanche of down-arrows.

I ask the house, in all sincerity.  Was anyone truly shocked?  I mean really, truly shocked?  And if so, does this change anyone's opinion of Cain Velasquez?  Will he get his props now that he has shown what he can do?

His skill set is awesome.  But I still give JDS a lot of credit.  He is still Top 3, along with Cain and Overeem.  And JDS might still prove the master of Alistair.  Anything could happen.  Just because Cain proved too tough this time, doesn't mean that JDS won't destroy Alistair Overeem.  This is still MMA and anything can happen.

War Cain, War Junior!  War UFC!  War UFC 155!

I really really want this fight to happen, I know it will not happen now but I hope in the near future.

I would like to see Cain Velasquez face Josh Barnett.

ok before you crucify me because you might say "ohh hd Josh already fought DC and got basically man handled by him and he trains with Cain" I know, I know. But the reason I would like to see this fight is for the fact of how good of a catch wrestler Josh is. His striking is decent and I am curious how the Classic Wrestling vs Catch Wrestling would turn out.

If Josh does get a good streak going and beats maybe 3 names, than yes it would be a kick ass fight.

Bill, I agree that JDS is still top 3 but you've got the wrong 3rd; it should be Cormier imo.

I'd like them to pull Overeem out of his fight with Bigfoot and put him in with Cain.

And put Bigfoot in with Daniel Cormier.

And then let JDS fight the winner of Cormier vs. Bigfoot.

That would make a little more sense.

No!  I don't remember that.  Damn.  Hate when I look like a stupid-ass.

[edit] Maybe have JDS fight Bigfoot.

I do not subscribe to giving JDS an immediate rematch after such a decisive beating.  JDS must wait his turn for another crack at the title.  He will get it, but not right away.

I assume that Cain and Junior will fight several more times before they hang up their jock straps.

Does anyone know off-hand how long after an event ends, before youtube.com posts the post-fight press conferences?  Is it on the same night?

I normally look for it on Sunday mornings.  Enjoy watching it after I wake up with my snacks around me.  Press Conferences & caffeine.  Ummm good.  Such a warm, natural routine.  My 'breakfast'.

I called it, Cain gets his belt back. Great fight on a generally weak card. I hope he holds onto it for a while... Cain vs. Reem should be another barn burner fight! Hard work pays off

Hey, has AnikM responded to this topic since the fight happen? I recall him being a huge supporter of Dos and naming all these flaws of Cain and how he was gunna get knocked out and such. And I have yet to see him comment since and was wondering if anyone had seen anything from him in regards to this topic since.
