The first MMA fight I can remember watching is Tito Ortiz vs. Vladimir Matyushenko at UFC 33. It wasn't until I saw Pride 17 and Kazushi Sakuraba, Wanderlei Silva, Quinton Jackson and Antonio Rodrigo Nogueira and UFC 40 were the whole backstory behind the Tito Ortiz/Ken Shamrock rivalry was explained to me that my interest in the sport was ignited.
I'll be a lifelong fan of the sport and I tend to appreciate and root for fighters that exemplify warrior spirit and the respect for others traditionally taught in martial arts, unique or highly specialized grappling oriented skill sets, and high level striking technique.
