Henderson vs. Diaz

Just can't ignore the differences between the fighters Nate has won and lost to. Beaten Jim Miller, Cerrone, Gomi, Marcus Davis, Melvin Guillard. Lost to wrestler types like Rory, DHK, Stevenson, Guida. Add to that Benson's infamous sub defense and it's an easy pick for me.

@Giosanti I can totally relate to you on this one.

Maybe Diaz via sub is stupid given how Henderson has avoided every conceivable submission attempt against him in the last few years. But nobody is completely impervious to being choked out, and Diaz might be the guy to latch on something really nasty in one of these rounds. Who knows though. I'm guessing.

Ben gets stuck in subs fairly often, so i'm with you @greg, even if it's kind of a wild prediction. There's no tough guys when it comes to chokes, you just go to sleep.

Every fight I have seen benson in he has came an inch close to getting choked in. Diaz is the guy to finish the job.

Bendo is ****y when it comes to giving up his neck to fighters because he knows he can get out of any choke. That doesn't mean he's stupid or blind to the fact that Nate has great chokes and subs though. I think Bendo will be a lot more careful on the ground against Nate then he has been in the past.

I'm sure that's true, p4pgoat. That's the most idiotic idea I've ever seen.

We aint seen it since the second Cerrone fight....tho i would love to see it happen tonight, 1st round

Someone tell me how Ben is gonna win this fight...he can't be aggressive vs Nate and risk getting caught, he can't pull his little leg kick circling routine like he did against Frankie because Nate is gonna be coming right at him...Ben's only chance is to LNP and hopefully avoid Nate's guard. Ben got dropped by Frankie a few times, and CLAY GUIDA dropped Ben in their fight...Nate is gonna demolish him. KO, Sub, or Dec...Nate's choice.

Before I say anything I just want to state that I believe both fighters to be very good, that this is a great match up and I feel that either guy can win this. *ahem*

As much as I don't really like Ben, he doesn't really "LNP".

Yeah. It was surprising, but Ben has good and quick recovery.

He might demolish. It just depends what happens. You have 2 men fighting. Sometimes **** doesn't go down the way they want it to.

@Nick Agree with your points...on fight day just really pumped and rooting for Nate. Was exaggerating a bit...but it's a forum haha, creating a bit of excitement ahh?

Oh I know. When I make posts I'm just generalizing and not really "attacking" anyone or anything. Just dissecting the post and answering the questions is all.

...and I completely understand. Real excited to see what happens on some of these fights.

Opinions have been so different for this fight, but I think this fight is not gonna be one sided, It's gonna be a barn burner, there both exciting fighters and both bring it. May the better man win!

2 completely different levels of talent. Beats him standing, takes him to the ground, gets the better of him on the ground. 100% Benson. Nate Diaz and Ben Henderson are 2 completely different animals.

I think Benson has proven two things: he is one of the most intelligent fighters in the UFC and he is one of the best gameplanners in the UFC. Benson Henderson is a true student of the game, he found the holes in Nate's game and exploited them to the fullest. He knew Nate's strengths and minimized Nate's use of them. He knew his own advantages and used it to his fullest.

One of the most amazing gameplans ever executed in the Octagon, I tip my hat off to Benson Henderson.

Please, can this guy get a bit of respect now? 

Ben Henderson ******* dominated Diaz! In every aspect, boxing, kickboxing, wrestling, BJJ, clinch everything!
