Just read that Fitch is out of the 132 card with an undisclosed injury. That really sucks, I was looking forward to the rematch. Who should B.J. fight now?

That's terrible... do u have a source? I didn't see it on MMAJunkie. I think a great replacement would be Thiago Alves, or if the injury isn't too serious, they should just push the rematch back.

Also, yes I think Alves would be a great replacement. Doesn't really say how bad the injury is.

Condit? Wasn't all that impressed by Penn in the first fight, just put another exiting fighter in there.

I think BJ was ready to call it quits after the last fight and was only taking the rematch because it was a draw.
I'd be surprised if BJ accepts any replacement opponent.

I was thinking the same thing @geezhound. So we'll see. I would actually love to see DHK vs BJ. I think style wise, it's a bad fight for BJ. But, we'll see, I can see them just scrapping that fight all together.

I agree with @geezhound... on the topic of the injury, if Fitch pulled out this early on, it must've been something really bad so pushing the rematch back may not work... if BJ does want to fight again, I'm thinking Thiago Alves and put either Condit or Ellenberger against Rick Story

I think Alves, Condit, and Stun Gun would all be great replacements.
Im interested in seeing if BJ will be motivated against anyone other than GSP or Fitch

Kampman, Condit, Koscheck or Alves would all be good replacements.

I think Kampmann is out for awhile with his injured hand. Not positive though.

Alves, Condit, or Koscheck. I wasn't thrilled with the first Penn/Fitch fight, and I think Fitch would dominate a rematch, but I also agree that BJ might not be motivated to fight any other contenders in the WW division. I think his career is winding down.

Condit would be good if Penn wants to stay at welterweight. I'd also like to see Jim Miller get a high profile fight. Koscheck probably makes the most sense but I think he's out until later in the year due to his eye injury.

Condit or Alvez makes the most sense given that he just fought the #2 WW in the world to a draw.  Kos and Kampann will not be ready in time and the Diego rematch doesn't make sense to me at this point.  I'd match Diego and the Stun Gun and BJ and either Condit or Alvez.

Bummed to get back to my computer and see this news. Oh well.  Regarding the BJ retirement talk, I could see him "retire" and then come back and fight again, and then retire again, and then randomly fight again. He's still pretty young and he'll probably get the itch to fight every once in a while.

I'd like to see Penn vs Condit but I wouldn't know who to root for.  Penn vs Alves might be better, because I don't much like Alves.

The Condit fight is seeming most likely. Condit said he wanted the fight on twitter, the fight makes since, and there are rumors swirling around the web.
