Fabricio Camoes is a Brazilian lightweight fighter currently signed to the UFC. He is a Brazilian Jui Jitsu third degree black belt under Royler Gracie and trains out of Gracie Humaita and Team Nogueira. He is a highly accomplished Jui Jitsu competitor and has held a title in Europe, two national Brazilian titles, and is a six time Rio de Janeiro State champion. He holds notable wins over Luciano Azevedo, Joe Camacho, Sam Morgan, Steve Lopez, and Efrain Escudero and has fought for promotions such as Meca World Vale Tudo, ShoXC, Tachi Palace Fights, and Strikeforce. Of his fourteen wins, eleven wins have been finishes including seven submissions. 

Camoes made his professional debut in 1997 in a one night, four man bare knuckles tournament. He would win his first fight by TKO and would fight Anderson Silva in the final for twenty seven minutes before succumbing to fatigue. “This was 27 minutes of war and he beat me when I couldn't defend anymore due to fatigue. I do not regret taking the fight. That was amazing to debut against a champion like Silva, who became a friend afterwards. I would do it the same way if I had that chance again.” He would fight sporadically over the next nine years, compiling a 5-5 record. In October, 2006, Fabricio would enter a one night, eight man tournament for Super Challenge 1 in Barueri, Brazil. In a total of fourteen minutes and ten seconds, he was able to defeat his three opponents, including Luciano Azevedo, to win the tournament. 

Riding a four fight win streak, Fabricio would sign his first contract in the US when he was picked up by ShoXC in 2008. Despite having taken a year and a half off, he was able to pick up a TKO victory over Joe Camacho and a submission of Sam Morgan within six months. The following year, he would be picked up by Strikeforce and was able to earn another first round submission win. This earned him a spot in the UFC. He made his promotional debut at UFC 106 against Caol Uno. Camoes would be deducted a point in the second round due to an illegal upkick and the fight would end in a majority draw. He would next take on Kurt Pellegrino at UFC 111. The fight turned into a grappling exchange, but with less than a minute left in the second round, a visibly fatigued Fabricio would be finished by a rear naked choke. This snapped a nearly four year and ten fight undefeated streak and ultimately saw him get released from the UFC.

In 2011, Camoes would be signed by Tachi Palace Fights. He made his debut with the company against UFC veteran Steve Lopez at TPF 8 and was able to pick up the win with a devastating head kick only twenty three second into the fight. He would fight again three months later at TPF 9 against The Ultimate Fighter season eight winner and seven fight UFC veteran, Efrain Escudero. He would pick up a unanimous decision win. 

Fabricio was scheduled to fight at TPF 11, but his opponent pulled out of the fight. He was picked up by the UFC again before he could be rescheduled. He was set to fight Reza Madadi at UFC on FX 1, but when his opponent was injured, he was replaced by UFC debuter, Tommy Hayden, who he would submit in the first round. He next took on Melvin Guillard at UFC 148, but he would come up short in a unanimous decision. He would take eighteen months off of competition but would return at UFC 168 against Jim Miller.
