It is rare, however, to see two guys put themselves through such hell and just put their hearts out as if a title was on the line the way Dennis Bermudez and Matt Grice did. This is the kind of fights that make you reflect on how tough the sport truly is and make you ask yourself: "so you wanna be a fighter ?". Because this fight had no title implications, neither had ever fought on any significant main cards, yet they fought as if their career and life were on the line, and it was a sight to behold, truly inspiring heart and will, and of course remarkable toughness. Dodson's explosiveness was a real threat and caught him off guard a few time, even got him dropped a couple times as well, but the flyweight GOAT showed a very solid chin and was undeniably the superior fighter. His movement was excellent, he put relentless pressure on Dodson, who showed great takedown defense but simply could not stop DJ from getting to him. DJ's work from the clinch was excellent, he landed many very nice knees and elbows and quite simply outworked Dodson to earn a clear unanomous decision over a very dangerous opponent.
