Bhullar looked terrible, didn't seem like he wanted to be in there. Back pedalling all fight, barely throwing and ending up getting DQ'd for timidity.
Aliakbari fine given that he had an opponent who wouldn't engage with him. Closes distance pretty quickly when he wants to explode in with power jabs and crosses. None of his cardio issues in this one but not really made to work.

Tang just a good fighter. Nice and patient in this one, waited for his moments and started landing harder and harder stuff as rounds went on before getting the finish. Didn't really have any trouble with anything.
Le struggled a bit, just seemed to think prodding with kicks at range was going to work and struggled to engage at close range. Just seems a tough style fight for him,

- Malykhin vs. de Ridder II
- Anatoly Malykhin | KO/TKO | Round 3
- 2024 | ONE 166
-
Malykhin is just too much of a roidy terminator for RDR to deal with. Marches forward throwing hard, too good a wrestler to take down, cardio too good for issues with volume. Cuts off cage well. Does throw a little bit wild when he comes forward at times which could mean problems against someone who can counter really hard.
RDR is good at getting into the clinch but not real ideas to get Anatoly to the ground. Trying the throws but not really moving. Front kicks and clinch knees looked a bit better but lacked the physicality to compete with Anatoly.

- Bagishvili vs. Otakulova
- Sofiia Bagishvili | KO/TKO | Round 1
- 2024 | GFC 26

Easy fight for Bagishvili. Otakulova seemed game but lacked talent really, very sloppy and Soiphie physically outmatched her everywhere, faster hands, better wrestling, stronger. Did what she had to do against someone much worse than her.

- Martinez vs. Tartaletti
- Julieta Martinez | Submission | Round 2

Martinez looks to have potential, very young. Kicks very good, timed opponent ducking into them really well. Punches pretty good although does go a bit nuts sometimes, pretty fast though. TDD looks like it could be a bit suspect, throws self into leg entries on bottom, a little loose but good enough to sweep at this level. Takedowns and top game seem decent too, nice and active with ground and pound and snapped up armbar.
Tartaletti very low level.

Utter ******* carnage, both guys love offence but don't give a **** about defence. Amaro seemed to hit harder and have the better chin, both throw good variety of shots, Amaro really good kicks and knees up the middle, loves slapping backfists, anything really, just chucks himself in with reckless abandon and seems to have the gas tank to keep doing it. Thought Corvella did alright too but couldn't keep up with the chaos in the end.

Al-Selwady took a while to get going, just circling left and throwing leg kicks while looking a bit panicked when Loik came at him. Good level changes, usual pretty poor control. Has a good right overhand he clipped Loik with a couple of times. Cardio good, looked like was taking fight over before he got caught.
Loik piles forward, sometimes a bit reckless in the way he jumps into things. Good power and can get guys to back up. Solid trips, was taken down a couple of times but generally pretty good at getting back up. Seemed to be slowing a bit but found huge shot to win.

Complete mismatch technically. AJ is a bit spazzy and low on technique but ridiculously toughness and exceptional chin. Tries to throw back but probably going to get beaten up a lot at this level.
Klein able to tee off at will really, nice boxing, solid power, would have put a lot of people down multiple times. Always has those head kicks. Nice combo selections. Ripped to the body with front kicks and hard hooks when couldn't knock zombie opponent out. Looked very good albeit against someone he shouldn't have been in there with.

- Duncan vs. Ribeiro
- Christian Leroy Duncan | KO/TKO | RD 2 | UFC Fight Night

Easy work for Duncan, Riberio allowing him space to style in the first and took full advantage of it with widely varied offence. 2nd round decided to go and wrestle, good double leg against the cage, then easy mount and great ground and pound. Pretty much flawless.
Ribeiro had a bad night, shelled up a lot, couldn't deal with the variety of offence Duncan was bringing, only really tried leg kicks and overhands. Looked a fish out of water on his back too, very easily mounted and freely gave back.

Much closer fight that I expected, Zahabi did well when coming forward and throwing more than one power shot after kind of giving the first round away. Very solid sprawl, read entries easily. Good pace of fight, pushing really hard in the third which seemed to get him the nod with the judges. Better fighter than I give him credit for.
Basharat needs to be going forward, good at maintaining distance with the front kicks and legs in general. Seemed a little off when being pressured by multiple punches, fairly easy for him to dodge a couple. Entries too obvious when he decided to wrestle, didn't look close to getting Zahabi down.

Really good start from Sopaj, showing some good leg kicks, good timing and finishing on double legs. BJJ looked really good, very good mounting and backtakes. One mistake and tide turned in favour of Lokdog and had to take a beatdown. Gassed but fighting a couple of weeks earlier than he was training for. Took a lot of punishment off Lokdog going nuts but took a bad KO.
Wildness is his strength and his weakness, Throws everything 100%, wild, gets off balance a lot from overthrowing. No quit in him, good have taken an out when getting dominated midway through the 2nd. Instead built back up, turned in and completely turned the fight. GNP is ******* crazy hard. Leg kicks crazy hard once starts landing them. Ate of Sopaj's late. Throws really hard late in fights. Crazy athleticism for amazing KO

Pickett had one decent moment with a knockdown but otherwise just backs into fence too much, doesn't disengage, has awful TDD.

Perez TDD looked excellent, just couldn't get enough damage off on the feet. Still looked like he wanted to be there, looks like leg kicks are still there, just forced to defend the wrestling a little too much. Still a close fight and still looks a good fighter.

Wasn't sure should have gone for the back take when Kohout was hurt but proved me wrong by getting the sub from there eventually, nice patience and switching of grips on chokes.
Kohout got knocked down when he's supposed to be a striker by a blitz, didn't really look like had much on the ground but did defend the choke okay for a while.

Torres nice and aggresive early, came forward hard mixing leg kicks in with aggressive hooks. Managed to injure Lengal to the leg. Fairly safe for the most part when Lengal swinging wild at him. Superior in the grappling, pretty strong in the clinch, managed to ride top positions well and stay safe when occasionally ended up on back. Pretty easily tamed wild dude.
Lengal did a bad job defending leg kicks early which caused him issues all fight. Swings wild, don't like the way he bobs and weaves going backwards into the cage. Solid heart and kept trying. Dunno why he was trying to wrestle in the third when he needed a finish with open scoring.

Tough test for Lazy King, would have subbed most people I think but Jack insanely hard to submit. Throws leg kicks on feet but didn't look entirely comfortable although hooks not too bad. Still a bit prone to throwing something stupid and ending up on the bottom in a bad position, able to work way out and get on top against Jack eventually, but it might come to a point where he's in with someone who holds him there.
Jack's sub defence is brilliant, not tapping in things that looked deep but sometimes seemed a bit too content to not get tap rather than improve position and probably lost a couple of rounds due to that. Looked the better fighter on the feet.

Cedric better at defending grappling than I thought he would be. Striking obviously good, didn't throw kicks much, trying to counter by drawing strikes from Baki out well, good at seperating hands Leon style, good at getting up athletically and cardio held up pretty well even with all the get ups. Uses butterfly hooks well to create space.

Good level changes and wrestling off the single leg but top control is a little loose and Honda managed to get up multiple times. Cardio seems very good, able to work at a frenetic pace for 10 minutes to get opponent out of there. Mixes striking and level changes well together, good clinch knees too.
Honda's TDD not good enough on level changes, works up through turtle pretty well. Didn't deal with pressure and pace of the fight very well but was very high in all fairness.

Impressive to take Dorzhiev down and to get back up quickly the times he got level changed on.

Bogatryev straight on the gas early, good first round by getting straight in Kirill's face and throwing hard and making him uncomfortable on the back foot and against the cage. Found it a little hard to keep up in the 2nd and 3rd and getting picked apart a bit by Kornilov doing what he does. Found the takedown in the 4th and did a great job of taking advantage of it with really heavy hips and back control to keep following through positions and get the finish. Pretty fast for a HW. Good job.
Kirill struggled a bit early as doesn't like to be on back foot too much I don't think. As usual looked good when getting to pressure with jabs and leg kicks and slowly picking apart. Pretty tough to take down and seemed to be trying to work way back up okay but made a bit of an amateurish mistake by going for the cross legged footlock which isn't going to work at this level and let Bogat get under the chin for the first time.

- Abubakar Vagaev | Decision | ACA 172

Vagaev is just a very solid fighter. TDD super solid, ready entries easily and used his low blocks and underhooks to shrug them off without much difficulty. Stayed on gas on the feet and used jab, solid cross and good knees up the middle to beat Edil up. Good pressure and pace throughout. Wrestling was there when he wanted to use it. Comfortable win.
Edil couldn't deal with this level of opponent really, entries too obvious. Put on back foot most of the fight. Did look okay when got on front foot, but didn't get there often enough. Good escapes from bottom when ended up there before got tired in champ rounds.

Wood put on a decent scrap for the last fight of her career, stuck on the bottom for the first round without making much happen. 2nd round managed range much better, bit down and threw more, front kick to stomach good, nice and aggressive when she hurt Moroz.

Pereira just too fast and athletic for most guys. Really powerful with the speed and now he picks his spots a bit better he's a ******* nightmare. Good squeeze when he dived on the choke too, good targeting of the body. Dude is a prioblem.
Olek just not quick enough to deal with that type of athleticism. Bad style matchup for him to have to fight someone much quicker and with more weapons when he relies on handspeed.

Lins did a good job with the leg kicks, main story of the fight. Wrestling better than I thought it was, able to take Cutelaba down a few times although Ion a bit compromised defensively. Struggled a bit with the gas tank in the third but had enough of a lead.
Patience doesn't work so well for Ion, sat back and ate leg kicks too much and by the time he wanted to push forward and be the usual Ion and just go after him he was too compromised to do so effectively.

Great performance from Kyler, movement kept him out of any kind of effective range for Pedro to do anything. Really fast, really good combos, really great variety with the strikes, finds angles really well then moves off beautifully to get out of the way of things coming back. Got off back the one time he was taken down really well. Made a good fighter look average.

Gamrot seemed to find the physicality of RDA a bit difficult sometimes. Might be something to watch against people with really good TDD. Timing on entries very good, also good at sucking in a single leg and turning the corner when it looks like a takedown has been defended. A little more tired than usual but a lot of hard work to try and hold RDA down.

Very gruelling fight, both guys had to work hard at a tough grappling pace for three rounds.

Gut check fight for Cullen, dug deeper than I've seen him do before. Wiklacz still has the grappling we knew he had. Cardio held up well. Sometimes puts himself in ******** positions to get into grappling but has the sweeps and wrestle up ideas to make that work up to a certain level. Striking okayish, pretty rangy, started using knees well on shorter opponent later in the fight which was a good adjustment. Prone to throwing lazy body kicks which are catchable and counterable and got him dropped though not sure was really hurt.
Good start to the fight for Jojua but didn't seem to have a plan B once Jakub worked him out. Solid wrestling, will be fine on top against most people I think, just hard with Jakub. Lost back a few times but excellent opponent in that regard. Short and stocky, comes in swinging hooks standing, not too much power I don't think, did drop Jakub off a caught kick but don't think he hurt him really badly. Alfie has a habit of always fighting close. Big skill gap here but still ends up making it closer than he needed to. Showed off an awful guillotine and looked pretty **** off his back in general but doesn't usually end up there. Showed some decent offensive wrestling against lower level guy.
Ownsworth somehow managed to get dropped by Alfie Davis. Stiking defence pretty poor, gets tagged a lot. Is game and keeps coming, top BJJ not too bad, uses front headlock to get snapdowns quite well.

Manumito lunges a lot, had a tough time finding a guy moving backwards well on the back foot like Tim, but he throws so ******* hard and keeps coming forward and doing it that he only has to land clean once and it's done.
Wilde was doing fine, hard to hit clean, moves well off the back foot, pretty strong in the clinch and picks his spots well, but it only takes one against someone who cracks like Manumito does.

Higo obviously very good BJJ and has good wrestling when he actually pushes it. Dominated Gallagher in the grappling when he took it there, good back taker and got some decent damage off with the GNP in this one. Too passive in the 2nd for some reason and basically gave the round away on the feet.
Gallagher doesn't have great TDD so he's always going to struggle with guys who have better BJJ than him.

- Pitbull vs. Kennedy
- Patricio Pitbull | KO/TKO | Round 3 | Bellator Champions Series
-
Patricio might be slowing a little bit, harder work than normal against a guy like Kennedy and did get caught and dropped and looked in trouble for a minute. Seemed to piss him off though and turned it on in the same round getting really aggressive and going after Kennedy. Relentless once he got him hurt and really went after him with offence to take advantage of him being hurt to not let him back into the fight.
Kennedy I thought was fighting the wrong fight initially, then did wrestle a bit more. Patricio hard to take down though. Did catch and drop Patricio which I didn't expect but when he got tagged hard himself he didn't really seem to have the heart to hang in there.

Took a while for Ray to get the wrestling figured out. Fell over a couple of times from high kicks for some reason. Much better at double legs and trying to get hands locked behind the butt than clinches, once he started figuring out how to enter those he's a problem as he's extremely explosive and strong. Nice use of knees up the middle when opponent tries to work up and he's hanging on the head.
Cooper still looks to have potential, does fight quite similar to Ray but couldn't deal with Waters wrestling over the full course of fight, although he did do a good job of it at times. Looks hard to move in the clinch.

- Sagliani vs. Hassanzada
- Ahmad Suhail Hassanzada | KO/TKO | RD 3 | Tuff-N-Uff 136
-
Hassanzada still insanely hittable, hurt very early but is a proper warrior and fought through to survive being very badly hurt to make the first quite close. Good cardio and poured it on his opponent as the fight went on, drowning him with volume on the feet and effective if kind of spazzy wrestling with active ground and pound.
Sagliani has power but really struggled with the high pace of the fight, maybe didn't help that he tried hard to get Hassanzada out of there early.

His face being as open as it was when he was going for it early worried me and he looked a little susceptable to leg kicks but once he realised that it was going to take some patience to get this dude out of there he settled down, worked with jabs and kicks more and started to look like Michael Morales. Has more cardio than you expect from an explosive guy like that, able to keep pace and blitz twice in the third to finish.

Countering really well, landing cleanly when coming forward, good ground and pound when hurt Villaba, sensible to wait for choke rather than punch himself out on tough dude.
Villaba aggressive, comes forward and throws hard, just couldn't land on someone as defensively good as Jose. Tough, took a good bit to get him out of there when he was hurt.

Antunes can crack, does a good job stopping takedowns by striking too. Might not work against everyone but dished out punishment every time his opponent tried to double him against the cage. Really good cross down the middle to drop opponent and good killer instinct to stay on him till it was over. Good performance.
Neto wanted to wrestle, didn't look like wanted much to do with the power. Generally got to doubles fine but struggled to finish them. Seemed to accept defeat once clocked.

Algeo very tough, good volume, comes forward as usual, just kept getting tagged in this one and instinct is to throw back hard rather than cover up which lead to his downfall here. Maybe slightly early stoppage.

- Ruziboev vs. Dumas
- Nursulton Ruziboev | KO/TKO | Round 1 | UFC Fight Night
-
Ruziboev times counters really well and throws them really hard. Took opportunity to finish Dumas after eyepoke but looks like he was going to win anyway.
Dumas seems to have a solid chin, walks forward, getting tagged a bit by more accurate guy and didn't really get chance to get his range before got finished.

- Silva vs. Weidman
- Chris Weidman | Decision | UFC Fight Night

Weidman looked better than he has in ages. Good volume, looked fit, wrestling looked good in round one. Still lands solid punches coming forward even though he gets tagged a bit. Think he would have won even without the eye pokes.
Bruno good when comes forward, read most takedowns okay but a bit stuck when ends up on his back. Gets tagged a bit but solid chin. Doubt he would have been stopped without eyepokes.
10-9 Weidman clear
10-9 Weidman very close
R3 KO (sort of) Weidman

- Luque vs. Buckley
- Joaquin Buckley | KO/TKO | Round 2 | UFC Fight Night
-
Good performance from Buckley, seems to be getting better. Good pressure for the most part, swings a little bit wild sometimes but was landing too. Really good ground and pound when on top to get Luque out of there, looked heavy on sprawl too.
Luque okay during round one, solid counters and leg kicks still there. Either a terrible shot or guard pulling decision put him on bottom and then never really looked like he was trying to do anything with the guard before getting stopped.
10-9 Buckley very close
R2 KO Buckley

- Blanchfield vs. Fiorot
- Manon Fiorot | Decision | UFC Fight Night

Fiorot really ******* strong, Erin didn't get anywhere near taking her down really. Happy to sit on back foot and land accurate counters. Can get takedowns herself easily enough if she wants to. Strong at turning against cage too. Cardio held up.
Erin couldn't hang with the striking really, is aggressive and pushes forward and would land on worse girls. Cardio excellent, kept coming, can't deny her heart.
