i think the crusher has grown a lot since their last meeting and will be to control the fight, but this is still a toss up.

I'm just glad to see Melendez get a fight. It's been almost a full year since he's last been in the cage. On April 9th it will have been 51 weeks since he last fought. It's not his fault really, SF just has no real contenders, they have to borrow them from Dream. Since Dream can't afford to put on shows right now SF gets a break. If Dream could afford to put on shows the GP would be in Japan and this fight would happen even later.

Round 3
I'll have to rewatch their first match back in 2006 to finalize this pick, but i think that melendez has evolved more than kawajiri has since then. i expect melendez to show the better transitioning game, pushing kawajiri to the defense for the majority of the bout with clinch and td attempts. then, hopefully, we'll see alvarez v melendez someday. (unlikely)

I want to go with Kawajiri and I hope he win, but I think Melendez will grind out a victory.

Kawajiri looked so good against Thomson, but I think he's outmatched in this fight. I'll be rooting for Kawajiri, but I'm predicting a dominant decision win for Melendez.

Kawajiri hasn't been training in a cage and i think that factor finds him with a Loss.

I read he did train in the cage recently, I think it was an article on Sherdog. I know that won't make him extremely comfortable in the cage compared to a ring since it's still his first fight in one but at least he is doing things right from the sound of it. The first fight these two had was awesome and very close, I think Melendez has improved more since their first fight though and will get a more clear cut win than the first time around.

Like the Diaz/Daley fight, I expect this one to be a barnburner, with Melendez comfortable out-striking and out-grappling a game Kawajiri.
