We all know Joe Rogan is a beast and could probably beat some chumps that fight in the ufc. With that said, who do you think is the best fighter that would lose to Joe Rogan?

Joe Rogan could not beat any fighter in the UFC or even come close.  He's not a fighter despite the martial arts he practices.  Not to mention he's 44 years old.

Probably most of the flyweight and bantamweights just because of the size difference.

Takewondo Black Belt and BJJ brown Belt under Eddie Bravo. I say with a few months training to put it all together, he could beat a few guys no doubt.

I don't think he'd beat anyone in the WW division and up.

Nobody. He's not a fighter. He may have trained for a really long time, but if I remember right he said himself he couldn't fight a real fight now.

I was going to post Art Jimmerson, but Mortis's suggestion is better. That or Scott Ferrozzo.

Just because he does jiu jitsu and did taekwondo doesn't mean he could beat a legitimate MMA fighter, especially a UFC level one. Maybe a flyweight or a bantamweight, just because of the size difference. He's said himself in an interview, that when he tried making a transition from TKD to normal kickboxing, that he got killed. I don't think he'd beat any of them. Maybe if he was younger.

To be serious, could anyone realistically imagine Joe Rogan beating Demetrious Johnson or Ian McCall, not to mention Dominic Cruz, Renan Barao or say TJ Dillashaw? I don't think so. Except maybe in stand-up comedy.

Take the 100 best bantamweights NOT in the UFC and they'd all still beat Joe Rogan.

This is not a knock on Joe Rogan. This is having some respect and understanding for what's involved in being an MMA fighter, which Rogan is not.  There are BJJ black belts who routinely go NOWHERE on the regional, local levels of the sport.

I think if you're talkin about about a grappling based 125 or even 135lb fighter, i would give him a decent chance. I'm not sayin the elite of those weight classes but tj dillashaw for example would have a decent amount of trouble gettin him down and controlling him. he's significantly bigger than him with good bjj skills he has a good chance of submitting him and given his experience I would think he would be the better striker.

but with his age i'd say he'd have a lot of trouble with a good striker at those weight classes...

@greg i have to disagree, he has a striking background...being massechuesetts state kickboxing champion might not be the highest levels of strking but its a pretty damn good base, combined with his bjj skills he's not gettin owned by that many bantamweights who aren't in the ufc

everything that i've said is based on the assumption he has decently long training camp to get ready for an mma fight, not just jumpin in the cage to find out what happens

Taekwondo. Huge difference.  And it was 25 years ago.  We're now talking about a middle-aged man.

He's not an MMA fighter.  Most guys who try to do MMA get punched in the face and it breaks them, and they cower up.

I have to disagree with some of you guys. I think Rogan could beat a healthy amount of low-end guys in the UFC given a training camp, especially if he got them to the ground. I've seen Dan Hardy talk about Rogan getting the better of him in sparring matches, and that's just striking. His age and lack of MMA experience definitely plays against him, but he's got the grappling ability, physical strength, and KO power to be a live underdog against a lot of the mid to low-level featherweights, lightweights and welterweights, and I'd probably have him as a favorite over all of the flyweights, and a decent amount of the bantamweights.

I've heard Joe Rogan state emphatically that he would get slayed in an MMA fight, and I agree with him.  Rogan has some skills related to fighting, but he is not a fighter.  It takes a certain kind of mentality to be a fighter, and Rogan has admitted that he does not have it.

I think you're mistaking Rogan's being humble with him not being able to handle himself in a fight. I'm not saying he'd beat a lot of guys in there, but he certainly has the ability to put anyone in the promotion to sleep with his power if we're talking 170 and below.

And for those of you knocking his TKD record, this is very typical of MMA fans and fighters that don't appreciate the threat specialists can pose. Stephen Thompson is looking like a great prospect in the UFC, and guess what, his incredible 58-0 striking record is mostly made up in wins in the same promotions and tournaments Rogan was world-ranked in.

Rogan is 44, as has been stated, so if he was ever going to be a threat to be a favorite over a UFC fighter above 145 lbs, it isn't these days, but he certainly would be a live underdog against some guys, and I think he'd even be a favorite over a healthy amount in a gym atmosphere, without dealing with all of the pressure of performing in a cage in front of a crowd, which he certainly does not have the necessary experience for.

No way would Rogan be competitive against anyone in the UFC.  No one.  That is like saying you can play in the NHL because you kick ass in your Beer League.  Joe Rogan is a brown belt, that's impressive, no doubt.  Al Bundy from Married With Children is a black belt.  Could he hang with MMA fighters?

As far as Tae Kwon Do, Rogan himself has said Tae Kwon Do is only effective against Tae Kwon Do, in MMA it's useless without a solid base in boxing and muay thai, not to mention wrestling.  And by solid base I mean thousands of hours of instruction, drilling and sparring.

Saying Rogan could hang with pro fighters is a disservice to the work these guys put in.  The job of a professional fighter isn't to fight so much as it is to train to fight.  That's their job, 5-6 days a week, to train in MMA.  Joe Rogan is an entertainer who dabbles in Jiu-Jitsu.  He wouldn't stand a chance against a UFC caliber fighter.
