I feel like everyone thinks the same exact thing will happen like last time with the "x factor" being whether Silva can submit Sonnen. Maybe im biased because Im a Silva lover and I admit it now but people seem to forget that Silva was hurt going into the fight with injured ribs. In my opinion I feel like Silva will be able to keep it standing longer and be able to possibly KO him. Thoughts?

I think a huge factor was that Anderson underestimated Sonnen but will be better prepared this time around.

If we see the Chael Sonnen from yesterday, Silva will almost easily defend the title (or at least if Silva has a takedown defense as good as Bisping that day), which wasn't spectacular, but good enough.

I doubt Sonnen will dominate Silva like he did the last time and to be on the ground for >90% of the match, but we'll see.Obviously, Silva ought to work on his takedown defense and Sonnen ought to work on his submission defense.

My very early prediction is Silva by decision.

I think an old saying is gonna come back as truth. Every great fighter has one great fight left in him. I think this is gonna be Silva's one great fight he has left. Being in Brazil, after all the **** Sonnen's said about Brazilians, and everything else that has gone on, I kinda feel Silva's coming back with a chip on his shoulder. I remember Silva back when he was working his way to the UFC title and then in his fights with Rich. I think that Silva's coming back for one fight, because this is probably going to be his legacy fight. Silva by 2nd round KO, in my opinion.

I agree with the sentiment that Silva will be pretty prepared for Sonnen's takedowns. Also, Sonnen was juiced up and may have contributed to his additional strength and aggression. Silva fought beautifully and brilliantly against Okami in Brazil. I have no doubt he'd want to lose to Sonnen in his backyard. And lastly, and like everyone says, if the Sonnen from last night shows up to Brazil (sans the Juice) then Sonnen will end up as a Sacrifice to the Brazilian population.

i think silva could make sonnens standup look bad.
the question then will be if he will try to finish and risk a takedown or do
something like he did against Maia.

I really hope Anderson destroys him. I like Chael even less after his post fight interview with Rogan. I know he's trying to sell himself but cmon be a little humble sometimes, you barely beat Bisping.

@everyone ^ i agree.
silva under estimated chael in their first fight and thats probably why he took the fight with broken ribs.  silva is now ready for chael to be aggressive and comes out aggressive him self.  this fight doesn't make it out of the first round and chaels face will not look the same. especially if we see the same sloppy stand up we saw from him yesterday

between the testosterone difference and knowing what happened in the end last time chael might be more hesitant in his take down and eat some bad knees or consider standing with silva, he'll get knocked out either way.

I honestly don't think it will be that long. I see a first round finish from Anderson this time around.

Right now, i think Anderson will get a finish at some point, by TKO. I think his takedown defense is improving, he stuffed Okami's one shot in their fight. And if Chael fights on the feet the same way he fought Bisping, Anderson would beat him up. I think Anderson can get a win in the second or third.

Saying Silva was hurt is just a cop-out for an excuse as to why he got dominated for a littel over 4 and a half rounds. No fighter ever walks into the cage with everything %100 and the really fighters don't complain about it after win lose or draw.

Chael Sonnen's only problem is he get almost overly aggresive with his GnP and that opens up submissions for his opponents. But to me it looked like in the Bisping fight he was mre cauticious and if he comes in like that aginst Silva he will leave with the belt.

If Anderson Silva is the best P4P fighter in the world? Then why would he of not been ready for Chael the first time??

he went into that first fight with broken ribs so maybe that had something to do with it

@Justynbomar, He was ready, evident in his 5th round submission when he exploited Chaels submission defence.

Any further questions?
