which fighter Jones or Evans would a loss have a more negative long lasting impact upon?

Is it worse for Jones to lose this fight or Evans?

Basically I am curious to see who we all think can bounce back after losing tonight?

I am curious to see what happens if Evans can take this fight into the later rounds and if he is able to get a takedown how will that affect Jones mental state for the rest of the fight.  I want to see Jones have to deal with some adversity and see how he deals with it.

Jones coming in and rolling through another fighter may not be the best thing for him.

I think a Jones loss hurts the UFC more than it hurts Jones.  Jones would get back to title contention fairly quickly and his career could recover just fine.

But if Rashad loses, and loses badly, it might limit his options as far as big money fights in his future.  Unless maybe he can get down to 185.

@lopati It depends on some different things. Obviously, with Rashad being the older fighter, NOT getting the belt is way more harmful to his career. Jones has quite a long career ahead of him, barring crazy injuries or mental breakdowns.

If Jones loses, it might deflate his ego some, which would be good for him (especially in the fanbase area).

Both valid points.  I just think to truly see how GREAT Jones is he needs to be taken places he has never been and if Rashad can prove to take him down than tonight may be the night.

We all knew Anderson was good, but he truly solidified that when Chael took and beat on him for 24 minutes and he pulled out the victory.  Anderson was able to show that heart of a champion.

I need to see something like that out of Jones, to fully get behind him.

For me he is just a far more athletic guy that for some reason people allow to dictate the fight.  RJJ said it best in the last installment of Primetime when he told Rashad you got to make Jones fight on your Clock.  If you allow Jones to dictate what, where and how the fight goes, nobody will beat him.

Need some crazy eyes and just bull rush him to see what happens.

@Greg.. the way he looked at the weigh ins, I bet he could drop to 185 and be a huge force. But, I think a loss to Jones depending on how bad, will just lead to Jones/Evans 2.
