As much as I like Carlin and Pryor, I gotta agree with Anik.
It's a generational thing. Bring The Pain is one of my favorite comedy albums, if not #1 on my list. I love Pryor and Carlin. Pryor's Mudbone character is hilarious, but I do feel I'm kind of missing something when I listen to the older guys.
Bill Hicks is probably my favorite comedian, but I laugh so much more when I listen to Chris Rock.

They're not comparable because of the criteria needed to judge each opinion. You could make a claim that Renan Barao is better than Dominick Cruz because Renan Barao dominated Urijah Faber, and Cruz had a lot of trouble against Urijah Faber. But someone else could counter that argument by stating that Faber's style was more dangerous for Cruz than Barao, and Cruz in actuality is better than Barao because Barao lost to TJ Dillashaw, who has a very similar style.
Now let's look at comedy. Chris Rock is a better comedian than George Carlin. Why? Because Chris Rock made me laugh more. What's the counter argument to that? George Carlin was a better comedian than Chris Rock because George Carlin made you laugh more.

Nothing you said in the above can be proven, hence opinion. Therefore comparable. Shut up child. The fact that I said basically the exact same thing Jodybanman did and you responded to him rationally and to me with insults is humorous.

No one is questioning WHY you think Chris Rock is the best comedian. It's funny because we're literally doing the same thing to each other. I said your opinion was wrong about him, and you responded with how your opinion was right and acted like a **** about it. It's clearly right TO YOU, because of the way opinions work. I, and others disagree. You for some reason don't seem able to fathom that.

I didn't respond by saying my opinion was right. I've acknowledged that Chris Rock is better than Carlin TO ME, because I LAUGH MORE. I explicitly stated that. You were the one calling me asinine, you're the one who became a little **** about it.
The only things I've said in this thread are that Chris Rock is better than Carlin to me because he makes me laugh more, and that opinions in comedy and opinions in sports should be addressed totally differently because of the criteria that goes into formulating said opinions.

Yeah, opinions are opinions are opinions. There's no special, different definitions for the word depending on the subject matter.
Uh, I recognize that you like Chris Rock more? Obviously. The same way you obviously realize I don't. Asinine wasn't the correct word to use to describe it in hindsight as it just caused a flame war to ensue, and it wasn't really meant to be an insult as much as it was meant to show that I strongly disagreed with your opinion. I bore of arguing in a big circle jerk loop of semantics though, so if this reply doesn't result in a cease fire on your end then I guess you can continue insulting me while I watch hockey and don't give a ****.
