well according to wikipedia Michael J is an accomplished martial artist, holding seven black belts in Shotokan, Tae Kwon Do, Kobudo, Goju Ryu with renowned Master Eddie Morales, Tang Soo Do, Wushu and Kyokushin

I guess it doesn't matter too much the seeding

Jean Claude Van Damn should be higher than Seagal considering they once got into it at a party and Jean Claude challenged him to a fight and Seagal ran away from the party and Jean chased him around the city the whole night. Bet not too many people knew that.

Out of that list so far, I think it's easy to select Bruce as the best movie martial artist of all time.  I think he's the most dangerous, in terms of fighting ability, which I suppose is what this thread is based on.  However, coming in here I thought this might be asking about the most influential movie martial artist, which once again would have to be Bruce Lee.  Lee forever changed the perception on martial arts, and was so ahead of his time when it came to evolving his personal style by adding other facets from different styles to create his own 3D complete fighting system.

Actually I'm basing this tourney on an actual fight out in the street or something, because the guys on this list all have a martial arts background so who would actually win in a fight is what we are going on.

Well you need 16 to have a bracket where no one gets a bye at some point.

I agree with your list almost completely...would have jet li a bit higher (just my opinion) Tony Jaa is definitely my favorite, followed by Li, Lee and Chan.

Maybe add Sonny Chiba to the list?

2nd-Dan Blackbelt in Jûdô

4th-Dan Blackbelt in Ninjutsu

1st-Dan Blackbelt in Kendô

1st-Dan Blackbelt in Shôrinji Kenpô

I added Dolph but does Chow Yun Fat have any martial arts background?

I know Chow isn't actually a martial artist, but he has played one enough times and he can just be a sacrificial lamb for Bruce's first rd matchup.

That way it's an actual bracket, no one thinks the 16 seed will beat Bruce Lee anyway.

Nothing about ninjutsu, kendo, or shorinji kempo concerns me or anyone else who trains in realistic combat systems.  I think Chiba would get owned by Bruce Lee.
