Thought about making this thread and received enough support to make it. So here it is. Any discussions on football whether fixtures, results, transfers, of field controversy and anything else can be discussed here. Either this thread will blow up since it is the most popular sport or the sport with the biggest ******* in the world on a website about combat sports will go about as well as Jose Mourinho's third season. 

To start the discussion who do you lot have in the FA cup final? I'm leaning Chelsea since they've snapped there poor form with a win against Leeds and Liverpool seem very fatigued with their congested fixture list

Outside of the van Crooij-Giakoumakis duo there wasn't a whole lot of positive for the yellow black army.

Machach also had a decent period, but that is indeed not worth mentioning. Furthermore, we were / are in a trainer carousel. Add to that the fact that we had the smallest budget in the Eredivisie.

Sorry Gobaz the only people in my family who could reasonably speak Dutch is my Grandparents. I don't personally watch much of the Eredivise but my family supports PSV and so I know a little just from my brothers. 


I follow my local club and English Premier mostly.

PSV has just been a knife that keeps getting twisted, their currently seething over the Rangers game. My brother is actually hopeful Manchester takes Gakpo 😂

Cody Gakpo has been in the spotlight of Manchester United for some time, but a lot still needs to be done before he can leave for England. Not only the clubs are not yet out, the Financial Fair Play rules are also in the way. Manchester United must remove at least one player from the payroll before the club can actually offer Gakpo a contract. One of the players who could potentially leave Manchester is Cristiano Ronaldo. The Portuguese was on the bench during the last game against Liverpool and the man has been wanting to leave for a while.

Casual008 I honestly don't think it would be a good move for Man U to sign Gakpo. I'm convinced he will be a Depay 2.0. Antony would be a better signing, but they have to dig deep in their pockets to sign him up.

The issue is even if the Glazer's open up the wallet to let Ten Hag secure a Antony he's not going to leave to join this Untd, especially not after that last season. Samething when they said they were pursuing De Jung. A Gakpo might just be their most realistic option. I agree with you on the Depay comparisons. 

@Gobaz I haven't been following the Ronaldo stuff too much but it seems like he's still deadset on leaving Manchester, the broader Utd fanbase though would have an absolute meltdown if they lose him for a Gakpo. 

*Edit: Nevermind their actually closing on Antony for close to a 100 million euros. That's a massive sink for someone like Antony.

Casual008 Antony didn't play this past weekend, because he was mentally not ready. That's what he told Schreuder (Ajax coach). The only reason this deal is not finalized yet, is because Ajax is finding a direct replacement for him. They tried picking up Ziyech and get him back to Amsterdam on loan for a year, but Chelsea prefer to sell him. As long as they don't find a direct replacement, Antony is probably not moving to Man U. 

As for Gakpo; he's super inconsistent and not ready to take on the competition that the Premier League brings. Not only is he inconsistent, but during games he seems to have lack of focus. Don't get me wrong, he's super talented, but mentally he's not there yet. I just don't think it would be wise for him to make that move. If Man U does decide to pick him up, they will quickly realize that they signed a "talent" and not a player that will be in the starting eleven that would make a difference.

@Wasteland Probably shouldn't be talking Rugby here but Foster's All Blacks have been mediocre for sometime and their last win against South Africa was in part because of poor decision making by SA's coaches. Argentina's been on a tear though, they won their series against Scottland and defeated the Wallabies with the biggest point difference in their history of playing one another.

It is now really final: Antony is going to exchange Ajax for Manchester United. Transfer expert Fabrizio Romano comes with his famous 'Here We Go' and speaks of a transfer fee of 100 million euros.

Earlier in the day it became clear that Ajax is selling Antony to Manchester United, but now it is really complete. It would be a fixed transfer fee of 95 million euros and five million euros in bonuses. Antony signs in England for five years with an option on a sixth year. The transfer will be announced next week.

The decision has been made Antony is, after a long negotiation phase between Ajax and Manchester United, an official player of The Red Devils. The Brazilian has signed a multi-year contract at Old Trafford. He gives Ajax an absolute record deal.

Antony is reunited in England with Erik ten Hag and is the fifth summer reinforcement for the Dutch manager. Tyrell Malacia, Christian Eriksen, Lisandro Martínez and Casemiro have already come to United at an earlier stage. The Brazilian winger must compete with, among others, Jadon Sancho and Marcus Rashford.

Antony provides Ajax and the Netherlands with a record transfer. The Amsterdammers receive 95 million euros for the 22-year-old Brazilian. That amount can even rise to one hundred million due to bonuses. Ajax took over Antony two years ago for 15.75 million euros from São Paulo, which stipulated a resale percentage of twenty percent of the profit. In addition, the Brazilian club is entitled to 2.7 percent because of the training allowance.

Poland versus the Netherlands

Now live (it is already 2-0 for the Netherlands) one of the last serious tests before the World Cup. Poland is an outrageously bad football team with 10 plasterers and 1 Lewandowski, so it will be 1-2. We have Remko Pasveer (110 years old) on goal. Pasveer made his debut in 1932 (De Volewijckers - SVV 3-2) and we really don't have better goalkeepers.

Goals Prediction
2-1 for the Netherlands, Depay and Gakpo as goalscorers.
