Every ref made mistakes in the past. Yamasaki is not a bad ref he is actually good at dealing with the high pressure job. The UFC don't decide who refs on their cards and I am not sure if they get a say in who refs what fightsd either. I know the athletic commission chooses who refs the card for sure. I have to look into if they choose who refs what fights. The only veteran ref that Dana White openly hates is Steve Masagatti. I am not so fond of him either but Yamasaki is good for the main-event.

I don't know why Dana hates Mazagatti so much, I've seen tons of refs make worse calls than Mazagatti. Mazagatti gets unwarranted **** for making the right call in situations like Brock vs Mir and Jones vs Hammill. Where Yamasaki gets a semi pass on terrible wrong calls.
