Marquez choked out Sam Alvey (#83) to win an exciting submission finish victory Saturday. He is a goofy, big personality with a lot of power, and well-rounded skill set. 30 years old, 3-1 in the UFC,

WHO WILL MARQUEZ FIGHT NEXT?

1. Ian Heinisch (#16) - Losing 3 of his last 4, all to Top 15 fighters (Gastelum, Akhmedov, Brunson), Heinisch is a guy regarded as one of the best outside the rankings. As Marquez climbs up the ladder, he could meet a fun banger like Heinisch on his way towards the Top15. Heinisch is basically a well rounded, gate keeper to the rankings. Two power fighters, with wrestling ability. These guys are evenly matched.

2. Eryk Anders (#25) - Ya Boy was ******* up Darren Stewart (#28) before he was disqualified for an illegal knee one month ago. Anders looked excellent in that matchup and by all means won the fight. He is big for the weight class and a sturdy vet, with a 5-5 record in the UFC. Anders is another journeyman middleweight who could represent the next level of competition on Marquez's quest for greatness.

3. Trevin Giles (#30) - 5-2 in the UFC and riding a 3-fight win streak, Giles is a 28 year old journeyman who won his last fight via decision to Roman Dolidze (#63). He has great boxing, and can hold his own in all aspects of grappling. Giles is talented, and would be an excellent challenge for Marquez in his ascension.
