We should have a hall of fame voted on by the fans, in which we induct fighters who are pretty much retired, or current trainers who have been around for a while.
I think it kinda adds to the rankings idea, we have a mini hall of fame and only induct a few people maybe per year, and of course there has to be a criteria in terms of when a fighter is eligible to get in (i.e, hasn't fought in 2 years, announced retirement, no longer fights at a high level)
I'm sure I can get some good feedback on this.

I like a HOF idea. Hopefully it doesn't turn into a minor popularity contest. Hopefully people who really accomplished things or contributed to the sport.

Well i'm sure we can make the nominees made up by a panel of people who know their stuff. Rest we can hope is voted on well, I don't want voting to be dependent on belt system or some garbage.
It would be nic eto have a HOF that doesn't have outcasts for vengeful reason (like zuffa does with some guys who deserve to be in it).
If Ken Shamrock somehow goes in a HOF, you better damn well believe Frank shamrock, Igor V, and Pat Miletich are in there well ahead of him.

building on the HOF idea...wat about allowing just 3 fighters at a time, and they have to all be different weight classes...

I am open to that, but how often do you let them in. Once a year? Also how does the first induction happen, just induct 3 and continue to build each year?
I just think it would be cool since there is only a UFC hall of fame, but it's only for UFC fighters obviously and it can be biased.....and it doesn't really have a criteria or panel.
We could also possibly add refs to this, like a BJM. We can have a section for Builders maybe, not just MMA organization-related people or owners, but also news sites, reporters, or even major MMA-related sponsors that have been around awhile (not just Tapout, but also Full Contact Fighter, Sprawl, etc they have been around since the dark ages)
Just food for thought.

lol...yeah, not much of a attention deserving title... if it were me, a bi-yearly vote amongst all members of tapology...and like the heisman, everyone gets a 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place vote, and the top 3 vote getters get in. 1st place votes get 10 points, 2nd gets 5, and 3rd gets 2 points.

yea I like that, most sports use it for MVP voting but can it stop unworthy fighters getting in the HOF.
I do still worry some undeserving guys get in due to popularity....something stupid like Phil Baroni getting voted in at one point, or some historic guy who had a .500 record in his 4 UFC appearances in early-age UFC tournaments.

could put guidelines, like only former titlists (at any level) are eligible/ must be over .500 record
