I know a lot of Rugby league players won't nut a week before a big game. There might be something to it. I don't know.

Some athletes(and trainers) believe the agitation and pent up frustration of abstaining are beneficial for training and competing. Some athletes, like Tyson and Ronda Rousey, believe the opposite. It's kind of like a sporting old wives tale.
