I say Tavares takes it with a high chance of a finish. Adesanya showed a lot of holes in his grappling against Vettori, and I think Brad is just too experienced not to capitalize on that advantage. Of course Adesanya could land something crazy like Boetsch did and get a finish, but it's not likely.

Tavares isn't one to take risks he's going to take him down when the opportunity presents itself. There was better options for both guys. This is just the UFC once again pushing a prospect into a sink or swim position.

Well I hope the betting lines reflect the community sentiment because I will definitely be taking a punt on Adesanya.
I don't think Tavares is a tougher fight than Vettori at all. Vetorri has a bowling ball for a head, and has never been finished.He also has twice as many subs and his TD accuracy isn't much shy of Brad's. Tavares is also KO'able. The elbow that Adesanya dropped on Vetorri would have floored Tavares.
Adesanya by KO/TKO in the first.

Not sure how anyone could come to the conclusion that Vettori is a tougher opponent than Tavares. He might be more durable but he's also a lot dumber. Horrible fight IQ. He didn't learn from his fight before Izzy that he needs to push the pace after round 1. He lost both fights the same way by finally trying to win in the third round. Tavares unlike Vettori is known as a very smart and calculated fighter. Tavares' last two fights have been very impressive surgically schooled two very tough guys. Out of all of Jotko's losses ( Branch,Hall,and Tavares) he easily had the best performance.

I came to that conclusion on the basis that Vettori has never been stopped, has twice as many sub finishes,Tavares has been stopped twice within two rounds, Adesanya has a high KO rate, and both Tavares and Vettori have about the same TD hit rate.
Not that hard to follow really.

I'm pretty sure Tavares has faced slightly stiffer competition, and those stats are averages of UFC bouts, of which Adesanya only has 2.

Vettori really isn't impressive at all. Pretty sure all his wins are over guys who aren't even in the UFC anymore and he couldn't beat a mid tier welterweight like Omari. Tavares has been there with the best of the best and top 10 in the world for a reason. Vettori wasn't even top 30. This is Israel's toughest fight by far not even close but this is nowhere near Tavares' toughest fight.

I think Tavares gets it done just because his wrestling is so underrated. If he wants to he can keep Adesanya on the mat all night long, and just grind out a UD. Not to mention the biggest win of Israel's career is over a past his prime, Middleweight Melvin Guillard. I like the guy, but this is just too much too soon.

To me in this fight they are putting Tavares a relatively safe fighter who doesn't go for the finish very often against a young guy getting that push by the ufc and is a very good striker who in a kickboxing fight would most likely out class most of the guys in the division so in the striking i would heavily favor adesanya he also has showed good takedown defense on some ok wrestlers and while Tavares wrestling is underrated it is not the best at all but hes still better on the mat. to me this fight is very close so i believe either adesanya puts on a striking clinic and gets a early to mid fight K.O. or Tavares grinds it to a close decision either way close fight to pick

This fight is weird. I assume this is them trying to push Adesanya. And rightfully so. But this is a dangerous fight for him very early. Think Tavares grinds him out fairly easily, sadly.
