If you are just looking at music for what the corporate producers are pushing to fulfill some cultural zeitgeist, then you have a shallow look into modern music. One look into Bandcamp and all the different genres of music out there shows that there is a wide amount of talented musicians worthy of patronage and being listened to. Through that site, I personally have listened to some great rock bands that could easily become top charts artists if given a chance. Don't allow the cucks at Rolling Stone and the corporate record industry limit you to what's out there for music.

Basically a bunch of ****tards playing tetris for x amount of bars with protools. No soul, no emotion. Just squarepushing.
The problem is, unless you have an interesting mind, all you're ever going to create is acres after acre of boring, ****** Art and technology has made writing music accessible to everyone.
Most of them can't even play an instrument, and if they can, they can't do it well. Progression chord trash with 1/10000 of a penatatonic lead break. Rinse and repeat.
For example. I play jazz and blues guitar. Mostly Jazz. If I play you since I've been loving you by led zep on my jazz tele, you will hear sweat and blood in my playing. You will know How many hours I put in to be able to play that song, and play it very well.
There;'s no sweat and blood in this souless drivel. It's fake ass, meaningless crap--an amalgamation of surfaces without any dimension.
That's why 99% of music sucks now; an oversaturation of ********. I listen to everything from Django rinehart to fantomas to the gravediggaz to tori amos to vast to the prodigy to skip james to the smashing pumpkins to slayer to morbid angel to elliot smith. It's not as though I'm bias towards a particular genre or generation of music.
The current generation of 'musicians' are the most boring, artless, puerile and uncreative in the history of civilization.
They are meat that talks, and will never create anything worth my time, let alone my money.

I am sure elder generations back in the 20's thought the same thing of Jazz, which is similar to how the elder generations in the 60s through the 80s thought viewed Rock and Roll and how conservative parents in the 90s viewed Rap. Now has the quality range gone out of whack? Yes. I have seen better quality standards for the Atari 2600 game library. But hey, that's capitalism for you. Like I said, I have heard some real quality music from recent bands through bandcamp and other such services. It's just now more of a chore than it used to be because you the consumer don't have to deal with the middle man that was record stores and have to find the quality music yourself.
