K.R.I.T.'s great, but Kendrick Lamar's still the best thing to happen to Rap in this decade.

Listenin' to this right now, Meek Mill is sick when he raps like he's yelling.

I honestly think Kendrick is highly overrated, hes good but not as good as some people make him out to be. Same for J.Cole.

I like Meek Mill, even though he sounds 14.

@Live2wrestle I think you should take that back before I find and kill you. Seriously.

I live Kendrick Lamar. Seriously, section.80 is my religion. How is he overrated in any way? His flow's amazing, his voice is original, his production is great and his lyrics are the best in the game today (K.R.I.T.'s second if you're wondering).

I agree about J. Cole though. For anyone that calls him a lyrical genius, they should listen to Can't Get Enough and see how lyrically enlightening that song is.

@Swickotine I think it's awesome that he sounds like he's 14, in fact the songs where he doesn't sound like his balls are getting kicked are the songs I DON'T like.

Kendrick Lamar and KRIT aren't top 2 lyricists though. They're both good, I'm not ****ting on them but not top 2. Wale lyrically is better than both IMO.

@Swickotine I disagree.

Anyone signed to Maybach Music is out of the running when it comes to best lyrics in rap.

I love Wale, when he isnt trying to be mainstream. Songs such as: Black & Gold, Letter, Diary, and Breakup Song are amazing though

You were just saying you like Meek Mill?...and besides the MMG stuff (which the first CD was pretty good) I'm talking about Wale's Mixtapes mostly, but his verses are insanely lyrical in almost all of his songs.

@Swickotine There are some rappers who I listen to for melody, beats and mostly just for a good time. Rick Ross, Lil Wayne (some of the songs) and Meek Mill are all rappers that fall in that category.

Then there are rappers who I listen to feel enlightened and to help me in life. These rappers include all of Black Hippy, Nas, A.Z. and 2pac.

But I would agree with Live2Wrestle, one's judgement on best lyricist in unique to every person, as long as the lyricist is good then no criticism needs to occur. But if you're going around saying Tyga, Wayne and Drake have the best lyrics, someone outta swing a sledgehammer to your head.

@AnikM I pretty much agree with that whole post. But IMO Wale can do both, if you haven't you should check out his 2 More About Nothing mixtapes...they're tremendous if you also like Seinfeld.

Funny thing about @Anik mentioning Tyga, I was listening to his new song with Nas and Wale and its actually pretty solid. Though to be fair its more because of Nas and Wale that its good

@Swickotine Like Seinfield the TV show?

And Kendrick Lamar said it best. He raps "about money, hoes, clothes god and history all in the same sentence."

"Just know I meant and you felt it."

@Swickotine Agreed, Tyga contributes absolutely nothing...like always.

It's kinda like the song Interlude. Most people think it's the best song on Tha Carter IV but Wayne doesn't spit a single rhyme. And that's for the better.

@Swick, yeah thats my conclusion. Props to Tyga for bringing those 2 together though.

While we are on the topic of best lyricist I will throw out one of my current faves:
