I don't think he would do great. He's short and stocky, would be pretty small for that weight class. He'd pick up some wins but I really think he would be better off getting a few pounds leaner and staying at 170.

Last photo I saw of Alves he was much leaner. He is short and is more suited to 170, he just has to stop piling on the muscle.

Yeah definitely should stay at welterweight. ATT and the crazy weight cutting... Thiago Alves and Gleison Tibau need to just mellow out.
