On second thought, the last event on Belem, Brazil taught me to never count out old crafty veterans. Switched my mind to picking Mark Hunt.

Blaydes has all the tools to beat Hunt but then so have many men who have been knocked the fluff out by Hunt. Not confident in this pick.

Pretty sure Blaydes wrestles Hunt for 3 rounds. Hunt's got good TDD off the cage, but I don't think he's agile enough to stop explosive double legs nor will he be able to shake off Blayde's top control once he gets a little less fresh. Blaydes also trains out of Elevation and looks up to Magny which I think means he'll be good at following a "best path to victory" game plane since that's Magny's specialty.
On the bright side, looks like Hunt has actually been training for this one, so who knows ... I just feel this is a super bad stylistic matchup for Hunt.
Hope I'm wrong but then again, with not too much coming up the ranks at 265 that excites me, maybe it's better for the division that Blaydes establishes himself rather than Hunt catching another win for his legacy.

Big fan of Hunto being an Aussie but I have to go with the big scary as **** dude who is nearly half his age here.

Hunt is the oldest fighter on UFC roster but I believe he still has the skills to stop a young up and comer.

The one thing that's giving me confidence is that Hunt is looking sharper and leaner than he usually does. He's basically built his legacy on being a badder ************ than most fighters he's faced, he's never really been a work horse.
I'm still finding it hard to see how he stops Blaydes from taking him down and keeping him there for the most part of the fight, but one can hope.

I was going to pick against Hunto but I saw a recent interview and he appears to have absorbed years of damage with no noticeable impairment. I remember the war he had with Bigfoot in Brisbane (best HW fight in UFC history IMO). The question is "is Blaydes better then Bigfoot?" and I don't want the answer to be yes. We are with you 100% Hunto you effing legend.

Don't mention Brisbane! I'd be in total agreement if not for Bigfoot immediately failing his test after. Ruined what was an amazing fight.

Not really sure why everyone is so confident in Blydes to take Hunt down and hold him there especially as the fight goes on. A roided up Lesnar had trouble doing it. Lesnar could only keep that up because of steriods. Then you also have Stipe, but stipe used his speed and striking to mix in the take downs. he was able to keep the pace up. What makes people think Blydes can do this at 263 pounds? One guy that did it was on everything under the sun and the other guy is a cardio machine who significantly smaller then Blydes. Blydes is going to gas hard going for this take downs and trying to hold hunt down. Also Blydes is no where near the striker of stipe nor the timing. I think blades is going to get knock out. His best bet in my opinion is and early KO of Hunt

I thought this was a 5 round fight, with three rounds Blaydes chances in my opinion go up, but still think he gasses out and gets lit up by Hunt.

Blaydes has shown hickups in his offense even though he is up and coming and almost undefeated. Hunt has lost a few fights but to the top of the divison, while curtis's victories have been to the lower end of the division. I think Hunt's experience and power striking ability will give him good odds to win the fiht. Curtis has wrestling as an advantage but Hunt is short and bulky and super heavy and i think is gong to be hard to take down. I like the price on Hunt
