Dana White says UFC tried to talk Conor McGregor into going back to 145 or at least 155 after loss and Conor refused. Conor wanted 170.

Two things I have to say about this. First, Conor should vacate the FW title; I know Aldo and Edgar fighting for the interim belt, but nobody cares about interim belts. Second, I am happy to see that Conor uses my same tactic I used as a child playing EA NHL 2002; I lost the Stanley Cup Finals..... I'll just reset the game, it never happened. He is not really respecting Nate or the FW division here.
I like Conor, but at times he makes it hard to like him. I'll be rooting for Nate here... a big plus here is that Nate another big payday

Seven months after winning the FW title, they're already staging an interim belt because he's refusing to defend his belt so he can have a non title fight at a pointless weight class. Had he'd agreed to fight Nate at 155 than they could promote this fight as, the winner fights for the LW belt next, but now there are zero stakes in this matchup other than questions about Conor's ego.
